I’m not sure I accept the mantra that “our immigration system is broken” in the first place. We don’t enforce the laws which are already on the books. We have looked the other way for decades as millions broke our laws to sneak into our country. We already have a very generous allowance for legal immigrants to come to America. The broken part is really the fact that so many existing laws in this area are broken, and few want to enforce those laws.

I’m with you. The system’s not what’s broken. The LAW’s broken—every day, every hour. The border’s broken, and breached—every day, every hour. Fix the border, and follow the law.

I do NOT accept the premise that our immigration system is broken. Instead I believe that our government is broken.
