If anything is “broken” about immigration, it is the enforcement of existing law and a complete unwillingness to secure the border.

I do NOT accept the premise that our immigration system is broken. Instead I believe that our government is broken.

And what is Jeb Bush doing to fix it?

Yeah ... that’s what I thought.

The immigration law that was supposed to be governing the admission of foreign nationals intent upon becoming citizens was put in place largely at the behest of Ted Kennedy, back in 1965.

One provision was the elimination of national “quotas” from countries with citizens who have historically emigrated to the US. Since this heavily favored Northern European countries, most of the rest of the world was severely limited, but with the “quotas” removed, people from anywhere in the world could be admitted on a legal basis. There was also another provision made for families of naturalized citizens to get preference in the granting of visas, leading to chain immigrations.

This action was followed with broadening the definition of who was a “political refugee”, and by seeking amnesty for those who by extralegal means, had managed to gain entry to this country without the usual application for visa of any kind. These two further provisions vastly overburdened our system, largely destroying its orderly application and making a mess of things, by losing track so easily of those who did come here legally, and by making no effort to try to locate those who may have been residing here without prior authority.

And now the system is just runaway, with little or no consistent enforcement, and an impossible task of policing the border by depriving the Border Patrol of serious support in application of the law.

Thank you, Ted Kennedy, wherever you are. At the time it was put into place, this was probably the greatest legacy by any Democrat since the New Deal. They have gone head and shoulders above that since then, with the establishment of the “Great Society” under LBJ, and the empowerment of the Islamic jihadists under Carter.

The way the neocons wiggle like jello on almost every issue makes me think they’re on the DNC payroll. They’re the Democratic Party’s best friends. A liberal can beat a squishy neocon in any election as we have seen but let them go up against a principled conservative then it would be a different story. The Republican establishment is sinking the party because those fools can’t get it through their heads that moderation doesn’t work and the voters don’t see a dime’s worth of difference between the two parties because of that.

From the recently quoted remarks of the former Florida Governor, he believes that "fixing" the immigration system should mean replacing the rooted American population with non European peoples.

As I suggested, yesterday, if that be not Treason, it is at least its second cousin.

As far as I am concerned, anyone who would support Jeb Bush for Federal Office, after that, is mentally & morally unfit to be accorded even a modicum of intellectual respect. America is not a slab of Geography. It is a Federal Union of specific people, those who through the generations have developed that Geography. Anyone who cannot grasp that, does not understand the concept of the nation--or the reality of ethnicity--or the lesson others learned when Nimrod's experiment in multi-culturalism collapsed in Genesis.

This is not something on which any moral person can compromise. Reality is not up for negotiation.

[...you have to fix it]

The problem is HIS solution to fixing it is like hiring a drunk shade tree mechanic to fix your car.

Those in power rarely admit to the fact there are problems...

The Bush Dynasty has bee in power over the GOP far too long... Them and the other checkered pants RINOs can either leave the party to the conservatives or stay on their sinking ship and get passed by a new ship/party.

The Bush sons each seem to have been born with something in their mouth. With George it was two marbles. With the others it was one foot.

Bolshevik! The system is not broken, how would they know, you have to actually put the system to use and enforce it before you can determine if it broken.

Yeah Jeb, but you can’t fix it by doing more of the same ol’ thing. Sometimes you have to do the right thing, and let the half-wits like you and McCain do the compromising. Cruz knows!

No. Bush. Ever. Again!

Go away, Jeb. You do not have an answer, either. Your marriage to an upper class, wealthy Mexican has absolutely NOTHING to do with the illegals class you want us to embrace.

The worst thing about amnesty is that it doesn't select the best of the bunch, but openly embraces the uneducated, the criminal, the gimme class.

There are a lot of hard working Mexicans who actually have skills, but even they mostly do not embrace our language or our traditions, or our history. They remain Mexican citizens living here and sending money back home.

They remain Mexican citizens living here and sending money back home.

"Enviar dinero!"

They don't love our country and have no intention of becoming citizens.

Send them back. If they want to become legitimate citizens of our country, let them get in line with everyone else.

The MSM will keep on quoting Jeb.

They will not follow any real news.

All the “real news” we get out of the UK.

MSM is bought and paid for by 0.
