Obamacare has federal work force panicked
The Washington Times ^ | June 13, 2013 | Charles Hurt

Say what you want about President Obama but you got to give the guy credit. He finally discovered the holy grail for dislodging the bloated ranks of federal workers from their jobs.

Force them into Obamacare!

According to a report in Politico Thursday, lawmakers and their staff all over Capitol Hill are heading for the exits.

Turns out, they can endure the toxic air of politics, slavishly long hours, dinky offices and lecherous lawmakers creeping up and down the halls. But one thing they simply will not abide? Being forced into the very same health care exchanges that they themselves created for the rest of us innocent citizens.

Oh, the irony of it all. That liberals run like hell when they’re not exepted from the consequences of their own decisions.

Obama and the elitist rats in Congress will figure out a way to make things less painful on their mascots.

I was talking to a doctor that “went private” about whether he’d be “allowed” to continue when 0bamadoesn’tcare kicks in full.

He said that there were numerous docs that he knew that were doing the same thing, AND were supportive of passing Obamadoesn’tcare.

Yeah, agree. The Both sides of the House and Senate have finally got an issue that they can agree on; scewing the American people. Fret not, they will find a way to exempt themselves and their little helpers from Obama Care.

Like their healthcare in the private sector is going to be any better? Something does not pass the smell test here.

“Fret not, they will find a way to exempt themselves and their little helpers from Obama Care.”

You can bet the farm on that. They will squirrel away 14 innocuous lines of code into a mammoth 3200 page bill on a last minute amendment that nobody will read until after it’s passed.

Rep. John Larson, a Connecticut Democrat who helped craft Obamacare for suckers all across America, complained to Politico that “this is simply not fair to these employees.”

It might be noted - not the entire work force in Federal service will be thus affected.

Congressional employees are a special class. Exempt from most rules that apply to civil service or most appointive offices, they form a permanent professional cadre, irrespective of the political affiliation of the legislator for whom they perform office and business duties. Almost uniformly, they are of liberal persuasion, and have more than a little influence what legislation actually gets acted upon. They filter the information that reaches the legislator, and they largely regulate the arrangements for meetings and constituent concerns. Occasionally they will overstep their boundaries, and end up being fired by the individual Congressman, but not to worry, they are soon working in another Congressional office, often for somebody who was diametrically opposed to their former boss.

They are even more tenacious in keeping office than some of the Congressmen they work for. This is not a virtue.

How did your doc answer your first question? Did he explain why other doctors supported zerocare?

So how does it help them if they quit their job- Everyone has to have insurance It is the law so they will just have to pay the HIGH prices we have to. I do not get their whining.

He seemed to think that he answered the first question with the reply about the zero[doesn’t]care supporters going private. If the supporters of the policy didn’t think it would be allowed, they wouldn’t have done it. That was the reasoning.

No, as far as why the other docs supported 0care - I would assume it was for the same reason that liberal Jews support democRats even though the ‘rats would have them in train cars if they got their way

- because they are LIBERALS first and Jews/doctors by a distant second.

Actually, that’s not their understanding of Obama[doesn’t]care.

Ask almost any lib about it, and they’ll tell you that it means everyone gets free healthcare on demand.

probably private sector lobbying firms and law firms that are promising them good insurance policies and not to force them onto the exchanges.

It DOES help them to quit their job. I heard Rush say that if they quit or retire they are allowed to continue on their EXISTING HC plan. Unlike us schmucks who lose coverage when we lose our jobs, we get to keep paying for their healthcare coverage even after they move on.

I don't think it matters. From what I've heard as long as they retire or quit, they are allowed to keep their existing government healthcare plan and do not need to sign up for Obamacare.

I have been speculating that Zer0's adm is going to do something so outrageous that it will actually trigger some kind of "extraordinary" redress of grievances.

If Obamacare turns out to be as horrible as people predict, exempting govt workers and Congress from the program just may be the trigger.

...of all the talk about "two Americas" that have been thrown around in the last few years, govt's exemptions from Obamacare would absolutely create this...2 Americas....&...war..

I had the same question.

Turns out that if they retire, now, they get to keep lifetime subsidized health insurance.

Of course, the Fed Gov always keeps it promises to retirees, right?

So where do they think the “subsidized care” comes from? Won’t that be from the exchanges as well and we all know they will get crappier as time goes by for them. They can all just drop off the face of the earth for all I care. Take the Blue pill bastards

Art imitates life...

Yes Minister is a British sitcom that a friend turned me on to. Bureaucracy is statism the world over...

The Prime Minister offers Hacker the position of Minister of Administrative Affairs, which he accepts. Hacker goes to his department and meets his Permanent Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby, and his Principal Private Secretary, Bernard Woolley. While Appleby is outwardly deferential towards the new minister, he is prepared to defend the status quo at all costs. Woolley is sympathetic towards Hacker but as Appleby reminds him, his civil servant superiors will have much to say about the course of his future career, while ministers do not usually stay long in one department. Many of the episodes revolve around proposals backed by Hacker but frustrated by Appleby, and others revolve around proposals promoted by the latter but rejected by Hacker, which Sir Humphrey attempts by all means necessary to persuade Hacker to accept. They do occasionally join forces in order to achieve a common goal, such as preventing the closure of their department or dealing with a diplomatic incident.

I have DVD’s of the complete “Yes, Minister” and “Yes, Prime Minister” series. They were Margaret Thatcher’s favorite show.

Well then, the solution is to make them take Obamacare after they quit. The rest of us have to.
