RE :”If only 70 are against it, the GOP leadership can change it to a more Dem-oriented bill to get Dem votes, right”

I think the 70 are calling for a return to the‘ majority of the majority party in house decides what bills get put up for vote’.

Bachmann laid out this possibility:

House comes up with bill that Dems reject and passes it with GOP votes.(lets assume that most freepers wont like it either)
Bill goes committee conference where it is watered down further to get a deal with Reid.

Final watered down bill goes to House floor and Dems with a few Rs pass it , like VAWA or tax bill.

Obama signs it.

We curse Bohner here.

That’s my take on it.

We’re talking a simple majority vote aren’t we. The Dems having the majority, it would seem they could pass this easily, and certainly with just a few Republican flippers tossed in.

That’s why I think Kennedy/McCain would have passed if they pushed it to the floor. Alas, ole Johnny Boy wanted to run for the presidency, and couldn’t stick with it.

We need to urge those who MIGHT be on the fence to oppose this bill, including Dems, appeal to the that they should put the welfare of our country before any other consideration. It worked before,a nd if enough of us contact them, it might work again.

As for Boehner, could it be he has vested interest, his daughter having married a Jamaican construction worker with long dreadlocks?

” According to The Blaze Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Steve King (Iowa) and Louie Gohmert (Texas) are the group of 70s spokes-persons and they are keeping the list secret as some on list are scared of Bohner and House leadership.”

Afraid of Boehner? That cowardly, drunken fool? I now have no confidence in these jokers.

Here is what I wrote on another thread about path-to-citizenship:

Importing foreign voters to create a supermajority for one party is on the same moral plane as stuffing ballot boxes or rigging juries, but on a much greater scale.

When Roosevelt tried to pack the Supreme Court with his cronies, a man from FDR’s own party said “This is more power than a good man should want or a bad man should have.”

And it’s bad men who would benefit.

You do know that it is the muslims, not Mexicans, he [obama] wants to bring over here, don’t you?The mexicans will get the heat, but once passed, obams will focus on bringing in muslims. The bright side is that he will also begin elimainating the parasite class [Blacks and White Black wannabees].

I saw your earlier post and liked it. May not have said so.

Image if someone walked up to you and said, “I have a petition here to bring 100 million White Northern European people to the U. S., give them access to all sorts of government programs, and flood your public institutions so nearly every hospital, school, highway, and government building would have to be replaced. Will you sign it?”

What would you say?

What would anyone say?

Hell no.

This really isn’t about race at all. It’s about totally remaking the United States in less than twenty years.

There are 234 House Republicans. The public Tea Party Caucus has 49 members. This group of 70 is standing against against 164 of their own Party.

That’s only 20 or so who aren’t public.

All groups have opportunists, and some become opportunists after making principled stands.

” so how many of those 70 are on the level “

NONE, as they are cowards, and hiding, instead of screaming bloody murder.

Well, if you count Boehner, Ryan, etc. then in effect the Dems may indeed have a majority in the House.

If the House (as Boehner suggests) passes some parts of "immigration reform" in chunks and the big "Chuck Schumer Republican" senate bill gets merged in a bicameral conference, and within that committee, each house has to pass the bill up for a vote to get the approval of the committee. If that happens, the new bill goes to each house for a vote? Not sure but I think so.

But the pro-amnesty votes never seem to get picked off (in fact McCain and company are acting a Dem agents), while the anti-amnesty votes seem to cave naturally.

Well I misspoke didn’t I. The Dems don’t have the majority in the House. Oops.

Still, you get our side peeling off to vote with the Democrats and it really doesn’t matter much if we have the majority or not.

RINOs rule...

Or maybe muslims are just one more group of "useful idiots" Obama will use to create his leftist utopia.

Not necessarily. In a sense, if you are acting as a Dem agent, the R next to your name means less than nothing.

Waite until I frame a response.
