WASHINGTON (AP) — Lawmakers voiced their confusion and concern over the sweeping secret surveillance programs revealed recently, after receiving an unusual briefing on the government's yearslong collection of phone records and Internet usage.

"People aren't satisfied," Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Pa., said as he left the briefing Tuesday. "More detail needs to come out."

Some congressmen acknowledged they'd been caught unawares by the scope of the programs, having skipped previous briefings by the intelligence committees.

"I think Congress has really found itself a little bit asleep at the wheel," Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., said.

Many leaving the forum declared themselves disturbed by what they'd heard — and in need of more answers.

An ol' Texas standard. 'Asleep at the wheel'..

No surprise,, what with all the time spent battling ObamaCare and long buffet lines and shaking down constituents.

It's like the Roman Senate. Nice to have. Looks good. Prestigious to belong to the club.

But the Emperor is running things.

The fact is that nobody is protecting the nation from anything except insidious freedom.

"I think Congress has really found itself a little bit asleep at the wheel,"

I'd say more like being in a coma.

'Congress asleep at wheel'

And what would any honest, intelligent person expect? These self-serving parasites are lounging around Washington, congratulating themselves and each other, luxuriating in all the privileges and the cushy life-style set up for them by their predecessors, jet-setting around the world, in the lap of luxury!

Ever notice the structure of their "inquiry room"? They seat themselves higher than those summoned before them. It should be the opposite: American citizens should be seated higher than those congresspersons. Just a small matter--or so it would seem--but it emphasizes in the minds of the self-serving parasitic congresspersons their status as masters of the citizens--whereas the citizens should be the masters of the congresspersons, who are their "public servants". The symbolism speaks volumes!

Yes, Congress is asleep at the wheel. They've got their slaves to do all the work for them!

And millions of Americans LOVE having this RULING CLASS to rule over them--they're too stupid, too lazy, and too gullible to care about what's going on. They prefer to think that these parasites are "their friends" and have their interests at heart and really do "want to give back" and do "public service". It's just too easy not to think about it all. FOOLS!

They have proven once again that a fool is more dangerous than a scoundrel.

"More detail needs to come out."

What more detail? They've been outted and admitted it. Done deal. Lock them up at the new FEMA holding facilities. Then go back to Benghazi and find out who gave the stand down order and ship them off to Leavenworth.
