Two prominent civil rights groups have filed a lawsuit against the National Security Agency over its program that reportedly collects the telephone records of millions of American customers of Verizon.

The American Civil Liberties Union and the New York Civil Liberties Union say in a lawsuit filed in federal court Tuesday that the program violates First Amendment rights of free speech and association. It also alleges the program violates Fourth Amendment rights to privacy.

The lawsuit additionally alleges the government's program exceeds Congress' authority.

I was wondering if this was Dear Leader Obama’s way of getting the public to demand an “impartial panel” to oversee the watchers,,,maybe in the form of some global group,,,UN?

Nothing that man does is good for our country. Not a damn thing.

WHO chose which 130,000 Americans and 2000 al Qaeda and Moslem Brotherhood had Code Level Access to the info?

Whooops! What a great question for Michele Bachmann to answer (especially since SHE may well have been a target of NSA blackmail for her public heads up on the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood and its access to "sensitive and classified info.")

I don't think anybody will forget that, or forgive them for it. But it's like a comet that flies by the Earth once a generation or so. When it's right, it's very noticeable.

Yes. When your enemy agrees with you, seize the moment and fix something. Then everyone can return to their corners.

Exactly. Let’s focus on the program that got leaked. And how this is the biggest step toward a totalitarian state in American history.

Yes. There are some family RAT wills I seriously need to get back into.

Just kidding. It’s the other way around.

Never forget that the ACLU was founded by communists.

Sheds light on the old adage "Politics makes strange bedfellows"

Perhaps. Then again, such would be the seducing phase, for socialist fascism.

What’s really shocking here, is that even an orgaization as corrupt and double dealing as the ACLU gets it, and John Boehner and the Gang of Eight don’t.

It’s really time for Republican voters to clean house.

I’d love to see a number of recalls started as soon as we see who actually votes for this trash.

You know what kills me about the conservatives who don’t this this NSA thing is a big deal, who truly think its about National Security...

I ask them: We’ve seen how the IRS was unionized and how every single IRS employee in the Cincinnati office voted Democrat, while simultaneously targeting their political opponents.

What is the NSA? A similar bureaucracy, just as corruptible, sitting an a totalitarian’s dream-come-true.

There will be no more powerful treasury of political power than what is in that room.

Yet we have naive conservatives who think a power-mad statist is going to allow a PIECE OF PAPER (search warrant) stand in between him and unbridled power.

GET REAL!!!

Holy crap! Me too! Who'd have thunk I would agree with the ACLU (just this one time)?

the gubmint is free to listen to your phone calls and read your emails...since these were not around at the time the 4th Amendment was incorporated, right?

Apparently that’s how The Regime reads it:

Justice Department EXPANDS Hunt for Data on Cellphones
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/26/justice-department-expands-hunt-for-data-on-cellphones/

Obama’s NSA eavesdropping goes beyond that of Bush... after campaigning on the promise of: “ No warrantless wiretaps if you elect me!”

Very simple ~ Obamugabe wants the FISA court system abolished so he can put NSA to work doing what he wants.

Actually, the idea is that of one of Obamugabe's senior handlers, and given the fact they used a ballarina acrobat pole dancer to entice a not so strongly wrapped NSA guy off his feed, I'd say the source is the old hormeister hisse' David Axelrod. He's teamed up with associates in Russia on this one, although they may have convinced the NSA guy he's doing this for some Chinese group

“ACLU cherishes nothing. Read carefully ~ they did not say that anyone broke the law but rather that Congress exceeded its authority”

And if you ask congress and the senate, they would probably agree. Because the “law” in their mind is whatever they agree it is. Screw the Constitution.

Sad to say, that’s what we’re facing. Which is why I’m glad this got exposed, no matter who did it and why.

It is a huge step toward totalitarianism, and it is unacceptable.
