The latest in a string of audience-of-none, end-is-nigh indie dramedies, Rapture-Palooza strains to find comedy in the book of Revelation, tracking a contempo young couple besieged by CG locusts, rains of blood and a horny Beast obsessed with booty sex.
More irrelevant than irreverent, the unworthy script from Bill and Teds Excellent Adventures Chris Matheson might play to apocalyptically stoned college kids, but offers nothing in the way of broader social satire, suggesting the waste of a perfectly good Reckoning not to mention the talents of a cast far funnier than the doom-and-gloom results suggest.

How about these brave Hollywood idiots make a film mocking the KORAN?? Let's see how strong their smug faces continue to mock religion.....
Also, this movie appears to be so unfunny that even the presumably non-Christian film critic says it doesn't deserve to be watched.
What these uneducated dolts don’t realize is that the Christian worldview they mock and hate gave them the freedom to ply their trade.
Their heroes in ideology would shut them down.
... yet God is not mocked.
They would get thrown in jail!
Critics of Evangelicals seem to be far more obsessed with the Rapture than the Evangelicals themselves. I notice that a fair amount of leftists focus on it.
I am more of a preterist...so I don’t fall in line with most of conservative evangelicals...and I am all for good humor, even if it pokes fun at my own.
My point is the Hollywood community is obsessed with demeaning Christianity—and that is wrong.
Without question. Hollywood has been consistently attacking Christianity for three decades.
Hollywood films have always glamorized immorality.
Very few films did not promote immoral thinking.
Even the best, if you look at them honestly and you know the Bible, were, in modern parlance, sleazy. And the main characters, the heros, who were sleazy just as much as the “bad guys”.
It’s basically always men chasing around women, and the women’s fathers are nowhere in the picture, or presented as a “bad guy”, who won’t let his daughter be with her “true love”.
This is how the replacement of marriage in America with a constant stream of “romantic” sexual encounters came to be seen as a good thing, and the idea of a father’s approval to court his daughter needing to be sought became first dated then actually scorned. It is viewed as depriving a young woman of her “freedom” when in truth, bypassing the father removes his protection of his own daughter from lechery.
