Testify before Congress, dang it!

If it doesn't lead to an independent special prosecutor, testifying before Congress does nothing. Wrongdoing can't be referred to the Attorney General if the AG is Eric Holder.

Moreover, because Congress contains so many blowhards, most questioning is limited to 5 minutes per Congressman. A heel-dragging, Fifth Amendment spouting apparatchik can be made uncomfortable, but has little to fear.

The Bible is the story of Israel and Gods covenant with Israel and ONLY Israel. (mountn man)

That is wrong ... (OneWingedShark)

You are right, OWS--God has made several unilateral covenants in dealing with mankind, successively:

(1) Adamic
(2) Noachic
(3) Abrahamic
(4) Mosaic
(5) Davidic
(6) New Covenant/Testament/Will (Christ, churches)
(7) Everlasting (Rev. 14:6)

YOU are the one that is wrong.

Try reading the Bible instead of listening to the teachings of pastors or priests.

Paul was the Apostle to the gentiles. Paul himself describes that gentiles are grafted into the vine which is Israel. Jews that became Christians didn't cease being Jews or following Jewish laws or traditions. But Paul explained the purpose of the law.

"The Church" was a continuation of the Judaism that God himself put in place. An evolution if you will. An evolution that replaced the law with grace and that gave gentiles free access to God.

God didn't make a new covenant, he included gentiles into the old one.

And at the end of Revelation, when the ENTIRE world is threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, Christ himself comes to fulfill his covenant with Israel, as protector and redeemer and then to rule as King.

I agree about corporate tax. Every corporation is owned by individuals at the end of the chain.

Sales tax...businesses collect them now. In most states.
So it won’t be a real big deal with federal sales tax.

What I like about sales tax is it is VISIBLE. People feel it immediately and they protest loudly when increased. Income taxes are silently usurped out of paychecks and most have no clue.

No one is even mentioning all the college students that have not gotten their returns back yet. There is even a “Club 8863” on facebook for the irate students getting the run around from the IRS. First, no one could turn in their forms until the new form went through, Feb 14th. Then many of them got tagged for potential identity theft. Once they straightened that out, they are still being told to call back in 30 days, after that, it’s another 30 days, and so on.. They’re just a big freakin’ mess.

I will also note in passing that the only person who could write an autobiography of Abraham Lincoln was Abraham Lincoln. Noone who could write an autobiography of Abraham Lincoln could mention me, because noone who could write an autobiography of Abraham Lincoln could have known me.

Of course the purpose of the complicated tax code is to make work for bureaucrats, lobbyists, accountants, and tax lawyers, and to generate campaign contributions.

And yet, what was prophecied 2000 years ago is happening today.

I always thought that illegal tax protestors were protestors whose object of interest was illegal taxes.

Silly me.

I think there is such a thing as prophecy, but it is far easier to write a pretended prophecy after the fact than it is to write it in a far distant time before.

To be a valid prophecy it must therefore meet three tests.
1. Is it an unambiguous description of the event?
2. Is there absolute certainty that the description was made before the event.
3. Actions causing the described event were not set into motion by the prophecy. That is, for example, Alexander didn’t throw Tyre into the sea because he knew of the prophecy.

It is tough to meet all three criteria.

If there was a statement that the sun would come up in the morning, and it happened today, it would not be a prophecy of today’s event, as it would not be unambiguous. There is noting specific that points to today compared to yesterday or a morning a thousand years ago.

What prophecy is taking place today that you think meets the three tests?

YOU are the one that is wrong.

Well, the Bible says otherwise, and since you do not seem to be ready to learn, I won't waste my time and yours. But the Bible clearly defines the covenants that I listed, despite your contradiction.

Try reading the Bible instead of listening to the teachings of pastors or priests.

You wouldn't take your stance if you had been instructed by a legitimate spiritually mature discipler (2 Peter 3:14-16).

"The Church" was a continuation of the Judaism that God himself put in place.

Christ fulfilled the Law at Calvary, and put it to rest when, as The Eternal High Priest, offered His Incorruptible Blood upon the Heavenly Mercy Seat, which was accepted by The Mighty God, once and for all, forever. The God accepts no more blood sacrifices. Judaism is dead, dead, dead, and The God of Heaven no longer responds to anyone who tries to reach Him through it (Isaiah 1:10-15, John 14:6-7).

God didn't make a new covenant, he included gentiles into the old one.

Nope. See Hebrews 9-10, especially 10:9. Christ took away the old first will/covenant/testament and established the new second will/covenant/testament. When you grasp that, come back and publicly apologize to me.

Otherwise, it's not useful to respond further to you on this. Argue with someone else.

When you read Revelation, ITS NOT the story of the Church. Its the story of God fulfilling his covenant with Israel.

Yes, it is the story of the Church; that is because it is the story of (a) God's reconcilement with mankind, and (b) his Just punishment of the wicked.
John the Baptist said this [Mat 3:7-10]:

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
If this were untrue the Pharisees and Sadducees would have answered him, but they did not.

IOW, the only reason Israel is of any importance in the bible is because of who God is, and that is separate from their lineage or their country.

THE BIG DEAL is that Gentiles were grafted into Gods covenant.

That's not quite true: you see before the Abrahamic covenant, God said this [] before banishing mankind from the Garden:

Gen 3:15   I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring[e] and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
which speaks of Jesus and his work; indeed even the Abrahamic covenant [Gen 12:2-3] is about God & mankind:
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;
I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
So, your exclusionary thought is quite contrary to the whole character of God; why? Because it is his will that none should perish.
2 Pet 3:9 — The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Sales tax...businesses collect them now. In most states. So it won’t be a real big deal with federal sales tax.

You haven’t thought about this completely. When is federal paperwork and auditing of that paper work ever easy? And consider also that once a fed program is in place it only grows in size and complexity. And if a business messes up it is a federal crime.

If we have an opportunity to gut the IRS let’s do it tooth and claw.

Also think of the power you will give the Federal government with a sales tax; they will be able to define what is a taxable sale. Consider some of the actions of state governments recently. State governments have gone after garage sales and cities have gone after lemonade stands.

I would rather have federal taxes remain an individual responsibility and drastically reduce what the fed can tax down to just individual income.

A FLAT rate federal sales tax is 100 times preferable over the 46,000 pages (idk exact amount, it grows every year) of federal income tax code. I spend a week preparing my taxes in some years because investments made decades ago must be retained and tabulated. Sales tax is on current transaction and then it is done and gone.

Of course he is wrong, but there are so many ways he could be wrong.

Prophecy is what God disclosed to the prophets. Other men then wrote this down.

One reason why the US might not be mentioned could be that God simply did not disclose this to the prophet. We have the word of God in the Bible. We can’t know the mind of God, though.

the problem is the FEDERAL INCOME TAX itself ~ and possibly even ALL INCOME TAXES.

That is the "illegal" tax protestor argument, and the courts--at all levels--have rejected their arguments. So either our courts are corrupt, which is highly likely, or the solution is as you say, repeal the 16th amendment. I'm sure that our rapacious federal government will jump right on that.

You need to get a life outside of Anti-Mormonism.

now you've gone and done it ~ combined 4 completely different topics ~ with no point other than you think I'm into anti-mormonism.

That's hardly the case ~ sure, the biggest bunch of them are heretics and apostates, but what about the others? Certainly with so many versions of one guy's imagination, somebody had to hit it on the head eh! (darn shame you guys are all humorless or you'd get a chuckle out of that one)

BTW, whether or not IRS thinks the income tax is legitimate or not doesn't really matter. Currently it is constitutional. In the future that relic off a bygone era should be unconstitutional. Just rescind the 16th, and although you think that is too difficult a job to get done, it is certainly a worthy goal.
