A group of ultra-Orthodox men attacked a police car in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Yisrael on Thursday, shattering its front and back windshields.
Police were called to the scene after the neighborhoods so-called modesty patrol beset a car in which a group of ultra-Orthodox women were traveling, claiming that they were dressed immodestly.
Several ultra-Orthodox men broke the cars windows, punctured its tires and poured fish oil on it.

How immodestly could a group of ultra-Orthodox women be dressed?
I find it interesting that ultra-Orthodox Jews seem to be locked in the same century that Muslims are. Both groups vie for the “obnoxious twit” award...although Muslims have the edge for the “dangerous murderous obnoxious twit” award.
Also interesting is the fact that they’re more closely related in culture then either are to the west.
I have no conclusions...just puzzlement.
Nothing at the source describes the “immodesty.” The ladies were in a car, so it couldn’t have been visible ankles.
The next thing you know, They’ll be making the grocery stores relabel all the Chicken.
Chicken Breasts must be chicken chests to be acceptable with in modesty parameters.
Geez. As if Israel doesn’t have enough problems then along comes these morons.
??? um.... why?
Don’t the police in Israel carry guns?
I certainly wouldn’t recommend trying this in the US.
Yes, but if they shoot Orthodox Jews there will be a political firestorm.
Self-defense.....and in the future, the Orthodox guys will think before they do something stupid.
In high school English class we learned how poultry parts were renamed in Victorian times so as not to affront:
“Would you like a drumstick?” (leg)
“Do you care for white meat or dark meat?” (breast or thigh)
The Haredim (ultra Orthodox) are hated in Israel by many in the secular majority for their extreme behaviors.
They should be careful of resembling those who are just as intolerant.
