NSA snooping has foiled multiple terror plots: Feinstein (Sealing the borders work much better)
NBC ^ | 6/6/2013 | Matthew DeLuca and Kasie Hunt

A secret National Security Agency program to collect vast amounts of phone records has foiled multiple attempted terrorist attacks inside the United States, the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee told reporters on Thursday.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein did not specify how many attempted attacks had been prevented, or the nature of the threats, but the California Democrat said there had been more than one.

The remarks were made to reporters following a meeting with senators who were concerned over a report in a British newspaper that the NSA had requested phone records from a division of telecommunications giant Verizon. According to Feinstein, 27 senators attended the meeting and voiced concerns about the policy.

“PatCon” was an ambitious SPLC/FBI op to monitor ALL “right-wing” groups in the USA.

The final OkBomb arrests at OKC were timed VERY delicately in order to permit for maximal prosecution and drama.

But the field is messy unlike HQ, and the blast timetable was suddenly moved up at the last minute, and the blast did go off, leaving the authorities with a HUGE tar-baby on their hands.

But McVeigh’s cover was intact, and very few knew he was a government asset. But there had been 170 deaths that had to be blamed on SOMEONE, and the very worried suits in DC decided McVeigh was then best used as a fall-guy, instead of carrying on in his capacity as an agent.

His sheep-dipping process had involved a very credible process of going around acting nutty, the better to convince genuine kooks, but it would also serve especially well to convince liberal media people of his dastardly and solitary culpability.

Did the gummint WANT to blow up their own building..? Probably not, but they did put all the pieces in place.

A gov that would burn down churches, shoot mommmies in the head, blow up a day-care center:

Would they smuggle guns to narcos?

Would they, say, uh...bug the media?

Would they relentlessly harass 500 groups and even individual donors?

Would they spy on the communications of the innocent American public?

WOULD THEY SPY ON MEMBERS OF CONGRESS?

The currently revealed operation violates the 4th Amendment and therefore it does not matter how many "plots" it foiled.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

That’s easy for Feinswine to say. she knows she doesn’t have to prove it.

Personally I believe she is full of that stinky stuff.

Uh? Diane!. You missed a few terrorist plots - Boston Massacre; Ft. Hood Massacre; the Little Rock Army Recruiting Center killing/wounding; the NY Airport carbomb attempt - only failed due to the stupidity of the bomber; the LAX killer; the Jewish Center in Seattle killing; and many others.

Also, many plots were broken up by local law enforcement agencies without any federal help. (Others were broken up by the FBI, etc. due to good police work, to their deserved credit).

Seems that the feds fu*ked up on Fast and Furious, don’t you think?

Won’t even comment on how many pirate attacks we missed or bungled.

The only thing missing in the Obama regime’s “intelligence” programs is real “intelligence”, human or otherwise (Benghazi is mixed since US intelligence actually got it right; the White House national security advisors/intelligence people go it all wrong - Donilon, Brennan, not so sure about Clapper but I’m not impressed with him, etc).

However, they seemed to have missed the whole coming debacle of the “Arab Spring”, now the “Arab Winter”, the ousting of Mubarak and the rise of the Moslem Brotherhood, the rise of Al Qaeda in the Magreb, and Hezbollah intervention in Syria.

Like I said earlier, there isn’t much “intelligence” at all in this adminstration. They’d rather worry about transgendered soldiers than killing the enemy.

Or perhaps, putting our soldiers in dresses was aimed at making the Taliban laugh themselves to death. I can see that kind of thinking at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Seems that Holder when asked by Senator Kirk today had a great response.

“Can you assure us no members of the Capitol building were monitored?” asked Kirk. When Holder said he wouldn’t be able to answer that question in an “open forum,” Kirk interrupted him. “I think the correct answer is ‘we stayed within our lane and we did not spy on members of Congress.”

if they can foil sophisticated terror plots this way, they could find every illegal and deport them.

Ask the people of Boston and visitors who lost their limbs and friends and family, how they feel about the crack job the NSA did at stopping the terrorism there, DiFi!

I’m sure you have, but most people will just go on with their lives. There is no way to stop it when both parties KNEW about this, and made it happen. They are all tyrants. Obama is just worse than some of the GOP, but the GOP went along with this.

I guess former congressman Curt Weldon was onto something back in 2002 when he claimed that data mining could have prevented 9/11.

People are forgetting that this government has identified Tea Partiers, gun control advocates and other conservatives as “terrorists”. When we read that the phone spying efforts were aimed at rooting out terrorists and their networks, I do not think that the government thinks that “terrorist” means what we think it means. I think that they wanted to monitor US calling patterns to identify conservatives and their allies.

foiled multiple attempted terrorist attacks

Knowing the Democrats propensentiy for lies she'll have to define: foiled, multiple, attempted ,terrorist, and attacks.

I suspect the common as well as dictionary definitions won't apply. Unless you're using the Devil's Dictionary?
