Bush’s Act was for overseas calls only. Obama’s includes local calls.

I am sure not all, but many. And don’t get me wrong, I loved and still love President Bush, but the Patriot Act scared me. Still does.

Well of course. Which party do you think has the most criminals? Particularly drug dealer?. This going to cut into their cash supply line if the Feds use the phone records to identify relationships between criminal enterprises and their cohorts...

Mundane example, but when parents comply with some silly rule that school backpacks must be clear vinyl so that contents are visible, they are playing into the hands of authoritarians. Conditioning is still the most powerful shaper of behavior and attitudes and by the time students graduate they may be rebels in their own minds but are as programmed as an IBM mainframe.
