Don’t the Republicans realize any amnesty is the end of Republicans ever being elected to anything ever again?

Are they this stupid or are they going along with the ‘one worlder’ destruction of America?

LOL, DHS has already told us (lied) that they have full operational control.

The only people who know whether or not the border is under control are the people who live there.

How do you calculate a 90% apprehension rate when you don’t know how many illegals are coming in through tunnels and small boats that nobody sees? Huh?

Cornyn, you stupid %$#!!

This is just the rescue the ‘Rats needed. By letting this pass in the ‘Rat controlled Senate (where it was on life-support) and die in the GOP controlled House, you have given Obama exactly the setup he was looking for. Now they can hammer the “do nothing” GOP from here to 2014 and put Pelosi back in power.

The usual game. There’s a supposed logjam then some moderate “reasonable” republican comes to the rescue with a compromise that gives people cover.

Remember the phony gay amendment that Leahy and Schumer “struggled” over? It was pulled that the last minute and shazaam, Orrin Hatch votes aye in committee.

We’re not so easily fooled. Rubio probably is though.

What Cornyn came up with is okay. Obama would be in trouble with the pro-invasion crowd with it, as it's enforcement first.

The problem is that Obama and his team of misfits cannot be trusted to do the enforcement. And now with Susan Rice in charge of Naional Security Advisor, you've got a proven liar in charge of implementation of anything related to national security.

At this point, the only answer is for every invader to go home. Those that don't self-deport should never be allowed in the US again. JMHO

Does anyone believe Obama will ENFORCE the law??? He isn't enforcing CURRENT law!!!

That is what is missing from the equation of all the well-meaning Republicans. I believe they care about the people AND the law. They're FAILING to see that the executive branch as currently assembled is lawless.

In each of the immigration debates (2006, 2007 and 2013), Cornyn was always looking for any plausible excuse to cave and join the amnesty pushers. Look like he found it this time.

We really need to adopt Alinsky tactics, get in their faces, and call the so-called “gang of eight” what they really are: RACISTS! Why? Because only racists would push the enactment of a law that legitimizes the unlawful acts of white and light skinned Hispanics at the expense of dark-skinned people from Africa and the Caribbean who have waited patiently for years to lawfully immigrate to the USA.

Big deal. So Napolitano lies and signs a certification. Maybe if you required a certification also from house (recorded vote) and the Senate (recorded vote) of at least 60 votes.

All of these feverish assurances tend to obscure the issue, and they intend that result. This attitude of “What do we have to do to satisfy you people?” by the smaller feedlot critters begs the question.
The question remains, “What would be best for America and Americans?”

Alice asked the White Rabbit, “How am I to get in?” His response was that was the wrong question, with the correct one being—was she to get in at all.

In other words, should there be an amnesty? They adroitly continue to place the cart before the horse. Their problem—with people who make their own beds and less fortunate ones who might need a job—is that we know their record.
Long on promises, short on performance (when ICE rank-and-file sue their bosses ...) in a few years we’re looking at the same problems but exponentially worse: an even more porous border, more crime, drugs, crowded prisons, welfare system death spiral and on and on.

Do your jobs, critters. Put the horse in front, Cronies. Seal the border.
They don’t want to do that. There’s the rub.

In 2010 El Presidente of Mexico (Calderon I believe)was asked would happen if someone slipped into Mexico(I don’t know who would want to)? His answer: They would be arrested. Their law about illegal entry into Mexico Here is a summary of that law:
Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals.

The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” violate Mexican law, are not “physically or mentally healthy” or lack the “necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents.

My thought is this:

1. Build a 12 foot fence. Man it with all means needed.
2. Give permission for the US personnel the right to shoot anyone going over the fence. Especially US citizens trying to sneak into Mexico.
3. Send the Mexican government a bill for half the cost of the fence and assure them we have their back.

In all seriousness, build the fence and electrify it using solar and wind power. Man and patrol it. Case closed.

Looks like Cornyn is sick of the Senate, because he won’t be there much longer with this crap.

But if there MUST BE a trigger, then instead of using a couple of stooges, how about something like requiring a majority vote in Congress from the major parties - EACH PARTY, and ON THE RECORD. In other words, get 51% of Republicans to also certify that the border is secured. It will be very hard and likely will require a REAL wall.

I know, I know...do nothing, but I’m trying to be somewhat constructive here.
