The whole point of her being appointed to the NSA is that she does not require confirmation by the Senate. Nobody expects her to know anything, or exceed her proven record of ignorance and incompetence. She is a product of the Ruling Class's beltway hothouse. Any number of incompetent swine have, like Rice, been awarded political payoffs this way.

Rice was promised a payoff for her public fabrications...the SOS job, but the Senate did not comply. She was still owed for her service, so I’m sure Obama had to give her something big enough to buy her continued support.
