Washington Examiner ^ | Wednesday, June 5 | Charlie Spiering

“You know, when Orwell wrote about 1984, the image of an all-powerful central government that monitored the citizens at all times, that had an eye on the sky or an eye on the street video taping all of us, that had information about all of us, personal data — that was viewed as science fiction.”

1984 is no longer a warning, it's a game plan.

“Finally someone who gets it”

Yep. I won’t bother to ask what took so long - let’s just run with it.

Good old Eric Aurthur Blair (George Orwell). Too bad he did not have a book on the revolt to get out of 1984.

By this time, I’m not imagining when the government will have cameras on the streets, but when we will have implants in our brain stems feeding electrical signals into our pain and pleasure centers in order to condition us to obey their rules.

America is now in a sort of dictatorship with the Federal Government loaded with communists leadership. King Obama is a self appointed communists black Muslim and created an empire that will almost be impossible to remove. Wake up America!

He did. It was 1984. The point was that there is no way out of a totalitarian system. Read the book again.

Ted had better be very careful. This man is so brilliant, patriotic and fearless that the left, and perhaps some on the right will do anything to bring him down. I can see it now: Ted goes out for a dinner with a “supporter”, and he is steered into a gay bar, with cameras flashing. Career destroyed. That’s how circumspect patriots must be today. Bob

About 4.36 GHz? Why are you on my frequency? I have a permit to think on this frequency and I was told by my government minders that only they could monitor this band.

To say such things is considered, by the State, a disruption of the bellyfeel . Many of us are openly guilty of crimethink.

In conclusion,
This is all doubleplus ungood!

Someone needs to tell this administration that 1984 was meant to be a warning not a blueprint.

Ooh... Was looking to write another book. You gave me a great idea. Now I have to read 1984 again as well as Animal Farm and The Jungle.

It’s 1984 with 2013 technology.

All good Americans like that Big Brother is watching. We love Big Brother, and continuous surveillance is necessary to protect us from terrorists and thoughtcriminals.

Ungood Americans only worry about Big Brother’s surveillance because it detects their thoughtcrimes.

Doubleplusungood Americans like Ted Cruz and Emmanuel Goldstein try to make good Americans lose faith in Big Brother.

Here in Houston area, there are cameras everywhere. Practically every cross street equipped with no less than 4 to 6 cameras.

An intersection up in Tomball, Tx has 11 cameras mounted in every direction.

This is bizarre. Montgomery co. Sheriffs office flying drone around the county, but insist their not used to spy on folks.

Cop cars retrofitted w/license plate scanners in various directions so squad cars can cruise through parking lots and rapidly process Tx. plates that have been reflectively enhanced and contain water marks for vision recognition.

Tx drivers lic. renewals now require both thumb prints at the time of renewal and digital image of your face for facial recognition capabilities.

I thought this was all conspiracy stuff....nope. TXDOT website details bio-metric efforts here in Texas.

Now the SCOTUS has put it's stamp on DNA swabbing of all folks arrested whether charged, convicted...or not.

It's all designed to keep the public safe. Well...1984, here we are.

...loaded with communists leadership.

I've noticed that you always pluralize the word, 'Communist' in your posts. Is there some reason for that?

Didn't know that. I guess it's something else I can hold against Perry's regime.
BTW- sandpaper does wonders on fingerprints.

>>BTW- sandpaper does wonders on fingerprints<<

Great idea, one problem though. It’s digital and the lady sitting on the other side of the counter has a monitor with your finger print thirty times it’s size. Altering the print would have her calling out to one of those grain fed officers standing off in the distance.
