This is what a death panel looks like.

At least can she have more soup? How far society has toppled and no modern Dickens in sight.

Thwe girl just needs to post a fabricated birth certificate online showing that she was born in 1961 and she’ll be fine. What makes anybody think she’s not an adult anyway?

Sarah Palin Was Right – Update: Gov. Palin Weighs In on the Sebelius Decision

Posted on June 04 2013 - 4:24 PM - Posted by:

August 7, 2009

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Lisa Murkowski

“It does us no good to incite fear in people by saying that there’s these end-of-life provisions, these death panels,” Murkowski, a Republican, said. “Quite honestly, I’m so offended at that terminology because it absolutely isn’t (in the bill). There is no reason to gin up fear in the American public by saying things that are not included in the bill.”

Rep. Earl Blumenauer

Democrat (Oregon) who authored the provision on end-of-life counseling, said he is astounded that Palin has not tempered her bleak descriptions of the health care bill. ”It’s deliberate at this point,” Blumenauer said. “If she wasn’t deliberately lying at the beginning, she is deliberately allowing a terrible falsehood to be spread with her name.”

June 4, 2013

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius rebuffed an appeal from Rep. Lou Barletta on behalf of a girl who needs a lung transplant but can’t get one because of a federal regulation that prevents her from qualifying for a transplant.

“I would suggest, sir, that, again, this is an incredibly agonizing situation where someone lives and someone dies,” Sebelius replied. “The medical evidence and the transplant doctors who are making the rule — and have had the rule in place since 2005 making a delineation between pediatric and adult lungs, because lungs are different that other organs — that it’s based on the survivability [chances].” Barletta countered that medical professionals think Murneghan could survive an adult lung transplant. During the exchange, he also said that the girl has three to five weeks to live.

Sebelius reminded Barletta that 40 people in Pennsylvania are on the “highest acuity list” for lung transplants.

Dear Murkowski and Blumenauer, You were wrong. Dead wrong. Signed, Future Obamacare Victim

Update by Stacy: Governor Palin just weighed in on the Sebelius decision, via Facebook:

The government will bend the rules left and right to harass targeted taxpayers, conservative patriots, selected journalists, etc., but it will strictly exercise inconsistent and subjective rules to deny a child a shot at life. And they called us liars when we spoke of “death panels” – faceless bureaucrats coming between you and your doctor to make life and death decisions about a loved one’s survival. It doesn’t sound so far fetched anymore, does it?

- Sarah Palin

I refuse to accept the “new normal”. How soon can the adults be put back in charge?

The question is, does Sebelius have the authority to suspend those age limitations and make the girl, Sarah Murnaghan, eligible for an adult transplant?

Given that neither healthcare or euthanasia are listed among the limited powers which the states have delegated to the feds via the Constitution, most of those power listed in Section 8 of Article I, nobody in the federal government has the authority to address such issues imo.

They won’t call them “Death Panels” but that’s what they are. In Newspeak, they’ll be “Quality of Life Boards” or something.

I just don’t get this. Does the government now have power over the donor program? The criteria in the past for heart and lung transplants have been compatibility, blood type, weight, height, and emergency priority.

You gotta remember that bureaucrats make the rules for one-size-fits-all. So what if a kid dies? Think of it as a late-late term abortion. Heartless bastards.

So, what if the people who are in the chain involved with transplant decisions simply ignored Sebelius and went ahead with transplanting when an adult set of lungs became available? Would Sebelius show up to remove those lungs?

All day I have been reading post after post on this subject. I am so embarrassed and disgusted by so called response. I have pulmonary fibrosis. Terminal unless transplanted. I know more about lung transplants than I ever dreamed possible. Protocol has to be followed if the procedure is to be successful. I know many people that are waiting for the call. Some have small children. Shaving adult lungs is an iffy procedure and even then it would have to be a small adult for the lungs to fit in this child. I understand her family grabbing at any straw to keep her alive. Even with a tx she is trading one disease for another.
