Trucking regulations are very strict, especially if you’re transporting hazardous cargo. I find it ridiculous that a trucker can’t have a gun to protect himself and his rig when traveling around the country.

I don’t know of any regulatory body that doesn’t trample on civil liberties.
Even a fishing license somehow is supposed to mean a fish cop can come and search you w/o probable cause.

It’s gotten to the point where entering some states with a gun is the equivalent of entering Mexico. But at least in Mexico you can usually bribe your way out of jail.
That cheap gun is going to cost him a lot. However I think he is protected by the Firearm owners protection act that makes it legal to travel through a state with a banned unlicensed gun as long as you dont stay overnight. He was caught when they stopped him at a checkpoint.

So far, every case of gun owner intimidation and or arrest that I have read about since the new NY gun grab law went in to effect has been done by NY State Police.
The same State Police that shall be from this day forward know as the “Stasi” in honor of their heroes, the former East German police organization of the same name.
