IRS Targeting Extended to Conservative, Republican Groups, According to Agency Employee
The National Review's The Corner ^ | June 2, 2013 | Eliana Johnson

An Internal Revenue Service employee based in the agency’s Cincinnati office told the House Oversight Committee that the targeting of tea-party groups for inappropriate scrutiny was intended also to extend to conservative and Republican groups more broadly.

“Was it your understanding that the purpose of the Be On the Lookout list was to identify conservative groups?” committee inevestigators asked the employee, according to a partial transcript of their interview with the witness released by the Oversight Committee on Sunday. “Yes, it was,” the employee responded. The “Be On the Lookout” list helped IRS agents identify which applications for tax exemption received heightened scrutiny. Asked whether the list, which contained key words used to identify tea-party groups, was also intended to flag Republican groups, the employee said that it was.

A more junior Cincinnati agent also told committee investigators that he believes the order to target tea-party groups came from the agency’s Washington, D.C., office, and that it was “impossible” for the targeting of tea-party groups to have originated with a few rogue agents in the IRS’s Cincinnati office, as the agency and the Obama administration have claimed. He went on to describe how the agency’s Washington office requested the files of specific tea-party groups that contained their applications for tax exemption....

Remember back when something like this ... much less THREE scandals, would've been on every TV set, every newspaper's front page, every news radio station, every magazine cover and talked about at every water-cooler, country club, barber shop, beauty salon, party, barbecue and trade show? Of course, the president would've had to be a Republican....

More gum flapping from the beltway. My only question now is, what is the GOP going to do about it?

It is a more persuasive argument and another arrow in our quiver at least. Because a lot of super liberal defenders I have noticed are still latching onto the original meme of targeting to 75 Tea Party/Patriot groups. Conservatives in general is another magnitude entirely that could legtimately have thrown the election.

Lib relative claims the IRS must have a reason for targeting those groups, they are political orgs masquerading as nonprofit. I said what about Organizing for America, isn't that a political nonprofit? Response: well, they weren't investigated so they must not be doing anything wrong. This is the mentality we are up against.

It is my opinion that the administration is testing the waters by letting these scandals out, just to see if the tipping point has been reached where a majority of Americans think what is going on is ok since it is punishing evil conservatives. Then they can do it out in the open. It's not an accident that the latest Organizing for America email came from Obama himself. He is poking us in the eye with flauting the rules.

Both the ACLU and Planned Parenthood have been officially "non-profit" for many years, and each has a budget in at least the tens of millions of dollars. If you include state affiliates, Planned Parenthood may have an aggregate of a billion dollars annually. This can be checked out at www.guidestar.org.

They are both heavily involved in politics.

It is my opinion that the Obama clique is testing the waters by letting these scandals out bit by bit---to gauge the tipping point---b/c when they convince a majority of Americans that punishing evil conservatives is OK, they can do it out in the open---no holds barred.

Excellent point---the con artist mentality is alive and well in the WH. Keep in mind the Chi/mob are the kingpins of Chicago organized criminal politics. They know every crooked trick in the book.

The Obamanations are a tight-knit clique of socialists/communists/unions/progs/liberals----they see themselves as superior---bound together by "enlightened" values — reason, tolerance, diversity and equality. The rest of us are unworthy and are to be suppressed and marginalized.......using any means possible.

The Ohaha savages duped the citizenry, led us over a multi-trillion dollar deficit cliff, into massive corrupt bailouts, and atrocities like amnesty and Obamacare. Their motto: "Everything For Us-- Nothing For You."

In the wake of Benghazi, media abuses, IRS targeting, etc, we are reminded that the Obamanoids are ruthless predators w/ no empathy for others and no remorse; anti-social psychopaths who recognize no moral boundaries--aggressively going after what they want, irregardless of the consequences to others.
