My former son in law to my eldest daughter came out of the closet after hiding his homosexual behavior for many years. He has been excommunicated and has lost his membership in the LDS church.
I know you all feel you have firsthand knowledge, but as an active member and church employee I have firsthand knowledge that no person who exhibits same sex behavior can hold membership in this church. It is not in line with Jesus Christ’s teachings and it is plainly written in the bible.
All information posted here to the contrary is an intentional lie, a misconception, or a misrepresentation. Look it up in the church handbook available online at lds.org. Homosexuals cannot hold membership in the church and this as with all Christ’s teaching will not change.
Re your PM accusing me of lying...Prove the lies. I can back it up. I know exactly what I am talking about and I can source it. I can give you plenty of examples of abuse in the LDS church, I can give you a link to the homosexual called to be assistant to the SP.
I was LDS and I now counsel those who leave, every single day I hear more horror stories, even by those who choose to stay for fear of shunning, of abuse in the LDS church.
Your church lies to its members and to the public at large. Take them to task.
I do have firsthand knowledge. They don’t excommunicate like they used to, in part because of the hemorrhage of membership thanks to the interwebs.

I am not happy with what has happened but life will go on and The LDS Church will continue to grow and thrive - not so sure about the BSA. Unfortunately, many Scout leaders and parents will bow out. It is very sad but I love our Church and will continue to be active - more committed than ever to do my part in overcoming and enduring.

Adultery “is not in line with Jesus Christ’s teachings and it is plainly written in the Bible” not to do it but that doesnt stop the Mormons from practicing adultery as their “first principle” of their religion, and necessary to become a god and to be “atoned”
and from still having it as their tenet in their religious writings..d&c 132
and from refraining to denounce and excommunicate their 2nd “prophet” Brigham Young because he said they would be “damned” if they even ceased to practice that “sex behavior”
BTW The Christian Bible places adultery and homosexuality on the same level.. both are crimes against God and “not in line with Jesus Christ’s teachings”

and dont teach others to do it either...
