I’d be real careful about Native American lore. Stuff about coping in the wilderness, fine. But no stuff about drumming up spirits or some nebulous “Great Spirit” in a pantheon.

Anything to invoke spirits for one’s own material psychological benefit on Earth is indeed power misleadings of creatures of God against God, if one believes.
