McCain has only himself to blame for Cruz being in Senate (Palin "most powerful female politician")
The Examiner ^ | May 24, 2013 | Mark Whittington

The Ted Cruz vs. John McCain feud is on, so proclaimed the Washington Post on May 24, 2013. The two senators have already clashed on raising the debt ceiling, with Cruz proclaiming that he does not trust Republicans like McCain and then betting the older senator that he could not get a majority of the GOP senate caucus to sign on to a debt ceiling increase.

McCain has more than once expressed irritation at Cruz and his uncompromising version of conservatism. But it an ironic way, the former maverick from Arizona has only himself to blame.

In a fit of brilliance, when he was running for president in 2008, McCain chose the then obscure, but charismatic, telegenic, and capable then governor of Alaska Sarah Palin to be his running mate. The choice provided his campaign with a shot of energy, though not enough to overcome his own deficits as a candidate and the economic meltdown then occurring.

While McCain has sunk back to the obscurity of being a venerable senator, Palin, thrust as she has been in the national spotlight, has seen her stock soar. By her ability to lay hands on other political candidates and often give them the margin of victory, Palin has become the most powerful female politician on the planet, despite the fact that she holds no political office and has seen her political obituary written so many times and so thoroughly prematurely that it has become a cliché....

Let’s compare the intelligence between the two. Does anyone know how McCain did at Annapolis? How did Cruz do in University and beyond?

RE:McCain has only himself to blame for Cruz being in Senate (Palin "most powerful female politician"),

so McCain 2008 is the reason we have Cruz via Palin ??? HA-HA,
Like Vice versa. Something big and very destructive happened after 2008 like around 2010.

So soon they forget.

I saw the debate on C-SPAN and Cruz took McLame to the woodshed on the budget debate after McLame chastized the Tea Party Pubs for wanting assurances that the Senate would not ram an increase in the debt ceiling down our throats with 51 Rats voting for ObaMao's agenda.

McLame was demonstrating how he got clobbered, while Cruz was defending our constitution.

I'm ELATED that we have Cruz in the Senate!!!! He's #1 on espousing common sense principles.

Cruz is a genius. He excelled at College. He graduated Cum Laude at Princeton And Magna Cum Laude at Harvard. Unlike some he has his records open to the public. They are provable. When he is in the room, he is almost assuredly the smartest person.

Sweeeeeeet.

Cruz probably owns that Senate seat for good, he has a solid Texas platform to fight from.

Sharron Angle is not a nut. She is one awesome woman, who was inexperienced. Akin is a good man whose ego got in the way of his stepping aside, the only rational decision after his faux pas. There were much better candidates in Mo. Claire won a gift second term. Bob

Have posted Cruz’ creds here a few times, as they are pertinent. I compare Wiki to Wiki, just for a thumbnail.

Have compared side by side Rubio to Cruz. Rubio looks like a bouncing water Slurping lightweight pansy in comparison. Pardon my impatience with the illegal enabler wanna be.

McCain

1951, the family settled in Northern Virginia, and McCain attended Episcopal High School, a private preparatory boarding school in Alexandria.[8] He excelled at wrestling and graduated in 1954.[9]

Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, McCain entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. There, he was a friend and informal leader for many of his classmates,[10] and sometimes stood up for targets of bullying.[5] He also became a lightweight boxer.[11] McCain came into conflict with higher-ranking personnel, and he did not always obey the rules, which contributed to a low class rank (894 of 899), despite a high IQ.[10][12] He did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he struggled with, such as mathematics.[5][13] McCain graduated in 1958.[10]
Cruz attended high school at Faith West Academy in Katy, Texas,[13] and then graduated from Second Baptist High School in Houston.

Cruz
Cruz graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 1992.[14][1] While at Princeton, he competed for the American Whig-Cliosophic Society’s Debate Panel and won the top speaker award at both the 1992 U.S. National Debating Championship and the 1992 North American Debating Championship.[15] In 1992, he was named U.S. National Speaker of the Year and Team of the Year (with his debate partner, David Panton).[16] Cruz was also a semi-finalist at the 1995 World Universities Debating Championship.[17]

Cruz’s senior thesis on the separation of powers, titled “Clipping the Wings of Angels,” draws its inspiration from a passage attributed to James Madison: “If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.” Cruz argued that the drafters of the Constitution intended to protect the rights of their constituents, and the last two items in the Bill of Rights offered an explicit stop against an all-powerful state. Cruz wrote: “They simply do so from different directions. The Tenth stops new powers, and the Ninth fortifies all other rights, or non-powers.”[18][19]

Cruz then attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995.[20][21][1] While at Harvard Law, Cruz was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review.[14] As a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, “Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant.”[22]

Well, for me, he had an American mom at the time of his birth, so that’s good enough. Mark Levin is on my side on this, so I feel pretty good about it. Bob

RE :"Sharron Angle is not a nut. She is one awesome woman, who was inexperienced.

Sharon Angle only God knows how got THE extremely critical position as the GOP NV Senate candidate challenging Reid who was VERY unpopular at that time in NV 2010, and 2010 was a GOP wave win election, yet still she (Angle) gave the seat to Reid and Obama by spitting out of her mouth endless stupid stuff

Cruz is nothing like that. He is a lethal weapon very careful and precise, not a self destructive one. He nails them so it hurts. You can look forward to what he does next.
