The prime minister has said the public want to see armed forces members in their uniforms - after advice to conceal them in public was relaxed.
A defence source had told the BBC the advice was a "common sense" step during the Woolwich attack investigation.
But the advice was later relaxed following a review, said the MoD.
In a message to forces personnel, David Cameron said: "The British public love our armed forces; they love them being in the public eye."'

Wear your uniforms and CARRY YOUR WEAPONS. Just like the Israelis who have had to deal with this for decades.
Let it be Gurka knives at the least.
That is a good question. Probably some bonehead in the MoD PR department.
A good first step. Now issue them sidearms and order them to be worn at all times in public.
Wonder how many Brits were wishing they could have pulled out a WaltherPPK and shot the s**t out of those guys? But, they can’t.
No doubt a politically correct British moron.
“If that man could have defended himself....”
.
If, among that crowd, there had been those with CHLs there would not have been an attmpt on the soldier’s life.
Come to think of it, is that the reason Obama wants to disarm the American public so that the muzzies can have a field day?
Can’t wait to hear Nigel Farage weigh in on the muzzie infestation.
Wear your uniform and shoulder your weapon. Walk the streets and take out the trash.
Now you just know the bedwetters in the UK will scream about that...
They're probably celebrate one of their own military being killed, and blame him for it.
Why do I think that? We have the same kind of people here is the US!
What does it tell us that wearing your uniform or related garb was ever in question...? Ever diverted as a precaution? It’s a sad state of offers, understatement of the year.
I’ve been to Ireland, they have a remnant of true gun rights like Italy (good friend goes there annually), this crap wouldn’t happened in either country, they love their shotguns, these A-hole would have died of a shotgun blast to the chest before the “armed” police arrived.
If those two are Asians ( I only saw the one horror show who was walking around looking like your worst nightmare dripping blood) then I am the reincarnation of a young Sophia Loren................
I have always had a bit of disgust w/ people who say, “Send them back,” but now? SEND THEM BACK. ALL OF THEM. ON A SHIP. IMMEDIATELY.
Yes, makin’ mock o’ uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an’ they’re starvation cheap;
An’ hustlin’ drunken soldiers when they’re goin’ large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin’ in full kit.
Then it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ “Tommy, ‘ow’s yer soul?”
But it’s “Thin red line of ‘eroes” when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it’s “Thin red line of ‘eroes” when the drums begin to roll.
Some things never change.
‘Asian’ is how the Brits have always referred to both actual Oriental peoples as well as those in Southwest Asia - aka The Middle East.
>> The prime minister has said the public want to see armed forces members in their uniforms -
I guess the PM was reading my posts.
Hey, PM, make sure your MEN are armed. And stop treating your citizens like untrustworthy trash.
Thanks, I did know that, but that crazy monster was clearly not Asian. On the news they said he was Nigerian.
Yes, but their press and government will refer to anyone from the Middle East or anywhere near it or even vaguely in the same general direction as “Asian”. It’s pretty retarded.
British of Nigerian descent. But born and bred in ‘Sarf London’, which makes their ranting about ‘our lands’ all the more ridiculous.
Good, those uniforms are EARNED, and should be worn proudly.
