Boehner: House won’t pass Senate immigration bill
Washington Times ^

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead.

Mr. Boehner and his top GOP lieutenants issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senaate bill, which emerged from a Senate committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote earlier this week, and to stake out a House GOP position

” real game changer—legal immigration. The status quo will make the Dems the permanent majority party. Amnesty just hastens the process. “

GOP = take the money, and run.

” They accepted ‘lesser evils’ by agreeing to shut down this or that trail in exchange for another elsewhere staying open.”

The old adage “give em an inch, and they will take a mile”
has held true in every instance. With Obama, just multiply the severity of giving an inch.

” Surely Boehner knows that, but he thinks he owes bigger favors to big money interests than to conservatives. “

Now ya got it!

You know, the bills probably won’t have much difference in them. The average person won’t know this. They’ll just think Boehner stood up for Republicans, and he’s swell for doing it. He’s a putz, and is just selling us out.

He must be beholden to someone.

GOP is now controlled by the same “buyers” as the DNC.

As I understand it, Spanish has about 6,000 words. English has about 20,000 and is growing all the time.

Why would anyone want Spanish to dominate? Keep em dumb and stupid?

Beats me.

My guess? a 1,000,000+ job as a lobbyist, paid for by the COC folks.

“It was as though some huge force were pressing down upon you – something that penetrated inside your skull, battering against your brain, frightening you out of your beliefs, persuading you, almost, to deny the evidence of your senses. In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable…what then?”

Thinking about this quote, we should probably adopt the number 4 to go with the ‘rebellion’ against this crap.

LOL, glad to see others including some well known people share my thoughts. I’m not in the inner circle of a party, but I sure understand where he’s coming from.

His recitation sounds like what you feel like when going through a divorce. You begin to question everything. Is the reality I saw, the actual reality, or was I merely shaping a reality that was acceptable to me, not entirely accurate, not entirely honest even with myself?

Second guessing... it’s not just for everyone. LOL

Hopefully, reconciliation won't come into play.

Reconciliation is a legislative process of the United States Senate intended to allow consideration of a budget bill with debate limited to twenty hours under Senate rules. Reconciliation also exists in the United States House of Representatives, but because the House regularly passes rules that constrain debate and amendment, the process has had a less significant impact on that body.

I believe you are talking about a bill going to conference. Boehner has said the Senate immigration bill will be DOA in the House. So I don't understand how the House immigration bill(s) will go to conference. The House has indicated that will not be doing comprehensive immigration reform in one big bill.
