House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senates immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead.
Mr. Boehner and his top GOP lieutenants issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senaate bill, which emerged from a Senate committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote earlier this week, and to stake out a House GOP position

Damn. This means they are passing it. I didn’t think it would be that easy.
I’ll believe it when I see it...
I don’t trust Boner. (Wish I could. Can’t.)
Agent Orange has spoken. thus is is done.
Don’t believe Boehner. If it fails, it will be because BAT-$HIT CRAZY MAD CONSERVATIVES SCARE OF THE RINOS!
Boehner - Benghazi, MIA
Boehner - IRS, MIA
Boehner - Wire Taps, MIA
Boehner - AP records, MIA
Boehner - Fast and Furious, MIA
Boehner - Covering for Islamic criminals, MIA
will debate its own bill instead.
Which will be much MUCH better I’m sure. /sarcasm
That's the correct way to go about it but I'm skeptical it'll be done that way.
Time to start burning phone lines.
Boner will pass some modified Senate/Rubio amnesty.
Homeland Security HAS OPENED ALL THE BORDERS.
But seriously, can you imagine the legislation that would have already been passed had the Dems been in control of the House?
we would probably already have single payer by now along with immediate citizenship for illegals.
As currently written, he added. We'll put a fig leaf and a doodad here and there so that those Tea Party hillbillies will swallow it whole. Hey look, a squirrel!
” WE NEED ENFORCEMENT! NOW!”
ALL we need!
Especially if Romney had been elected.
That’s right. This is so infuriating.
Yes, DHS has but not the Homeland Security House Committee.
Yeah! just what is the House Bill and why bring it up at all. Send them back to where they came from. That is my bill.
ANY bill Boehner comes up will be AMNESTY!
Now I am all but certain America will be sold.
The fix is in.
The hell with phone lines.
Burning them is a waste of time. They will onl;y listen when we go to the Capitol and become enraged enough to go into action.
They better not pass ANYTHING to do with immigration UNTIL we regain the Senate!
” Yes, DHS has but not the Homeland Security House Committee.”
Any idea who is on this committee?
Oh yeah that’s right D1!
It burns me every time I see a republican tout immigration “reform” by saying that the illegal alien insurgent criminal invaders in our country at this time will be given this and that blah blah but will have to get in line behind the ones trying to get citizenship legally.
Such BS, they are in line back in their OWN countries.
If the ones here are going to go to the back of the line, they need to go back where they came from and wait.
Just like the ones doing it the correct way.
It’s not gonna pass the House yet he means.
You nailed it.
So why not do the Reid thing and not even bring it to a vote?
Can’t bonehead do that just like Reid does?
” Burning them is a waste of time. They will onl;y listen when we go to the Capitol and become enraged enough to go into action.”
If we could....
abolish ALL welfare programs
abolish ALL minimum wage laws
privatize ALL entitlement programs
repeal of ALL of Obamacare
Abolish the IRS
Repeal the 16th Amendement.
Strictly follow the 10th Amendment (and the rest of the Constitution)
Make English the official language.
Do not grant automatic citizenship to children born here from illegal aliens.
Most importantly....secure our borders....
Do ALL of those things....then yes I too MIGHT consider an an immigration reform bill.
Here is the entire content of the bill I want passed on immigration:
“A contiguous barrier shall be constructed from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico and continuously patrolled and policed. 1 fiscal year following the completion of the structure and full force policing of the southern boarder, analysis of its affect and drafting of legislation to engage illegal immigrants residing in the United States will begin for consideration of passage and implementation.”
Sign this bill and enforce the laws that we have until we stop the simple illegal immigration. Otherwise we get to re-visit this issue in another 10 years while scratching our heads wondering how we got here again.
Republicans on HS Committee:
Lamar S. Smith
Peter T. King
Paul C. Broun
Candice S. Miller
Steven M. Palazzo
Susan W. Brooks
You and I both know it, but most don’t - the borders have never ever been closed.
When what you have is over a thousand miles of double-strand barbed wire fence - if any fence at all - you cannot close a border.
Same here. One bad bill or the other will be passed.

Reposted, so those who are unaware have a chance to read this.
The House shouldn’t be producing an immigration bill other than to strengthen border and internal enforcement.
There own bill should simply be to see that our current laws are enforced.
Instead it will have 95% of the Senate’s and we’re headed to comprehensive amnesty—with the tea party fully distracted to make sure the American people don’t wake up before it is passed.
Until Obama is gone there is no point in any thing. He does not and will not enforce the law.
He must be made to learn that when there is no law, there is no law.
Boehner wants it to be the House liberal Republicans who pass amnesty not the Senate liberal Republicans. Traitorous bastards.
translation “so when we do pass amnesty, I can say that it’s so much better than what the Senate wanted”
Well, shoot, lemme just ping the list and we’ll let over 600 FReepers take a peek at that little gem of truth...
As a reminder, check the ‘aliens’ keyword at the top of the forum to see other threads related to illegal immigration, our borders, and security issues.
He could have called a vote to convene a special prosecutor on any one of the items in your list but he hasn’t and he won’t.
Boehner has got to go.
