Op-Ed: The case for zero tolerance of fanatics
Digital Journal (.com) ^ | 5/22/2013 | Paul Wallis

Sydney - The case for describing fanatics as insane is pretty convincing. These people’s minds are totally subordinated. “Extremism” is a euphemism. This is brainwashing, perversion of minds, and historically it leads only to violence and suffering.

The current forms of “extremism” are media and money-fueled, false, pseudo-ideologies. “Fundamentalist” religion has absolutely nothing in common with Islam or Christianity as cited by their founders. It’s based on interpretations of interpretations, like the “pass the message” communications exercise in which the message ultimately becomes totally different.

Metallica - Don't Tread On Me

Lyrics: Don't tread on me Say don't tread on me

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail Once you provoke her, rattling of her tail Never begins it, never, but once engaged... Never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage

Say don't tread on me

So be it Threaten no more To secure peace is to prepare for war So be it Settle the score Touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

Don't tread on me

Love it or leave it, she with the deadly bite Quick is the blue tongue, forked as the lightning strike Shining with brightness, always on surveillance The eyes, they never close, emblem of vigilance

No, no, no, no Say don't tread on me

So be it, threaten no more To secure peace is to prepare for war So be it, settle the score Touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

Don't tread on me

So be it Threaten no more To secure peace is to prepare for war

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail Once you provoke her, rattling of her tail

So be it Threaten no more To secure peace is to prepare for war So be it Settle the score Touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

Don't tread on me

Fanatical perverts like the homosexual/NAMBLA movement should be on that list too.

This hits home (from the article).

The pattern of behaviour for extremists is simple enough:
-Creation of dogma
-Recruitment of those unable to argue with or accepting of dogma
-Progressively more confrontational
-Progressively denying or distorting known facts, and demanding acceptance of the false versions of facts
-Threats, actual violence, and polarizing communities
-Terrorism, real or implied

“Silent Running”
Mike and the Mechanics, 1985

Take the children and yourself
And hide out in the cellar
By now the fighting will be close at hand
Don’t believe the church and state
And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I’m with the high command

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

There’s a gun and ammunition
Just inside the doorway
Use it only in emergency
Better you should pray to God
The Father and the Spirit
Will guide you and protect from up here

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still

Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you?)
(Can you hear me) hear me calling you?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running babe?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running?
Calling you, calling you

“Symphony Of Destruction”

Megadeth

You take a mortal man,
And put him in control
Watch him become a god
Watch peoples heads a’roll
A’roll...

[chorus:]
Just like the Pied Piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like marionettes
Swaying to the Symphony ...
Of Destruction

Acting like a robot
Its metal brain corrodes
You try to take its pulse
Before the head explodes
Explodes...

[Chorus]
[Solo - Marty]

The earth starts to rumble
World powers fall
A’warring for the heavens
A peaceful man stands tall
Tall...

I strongly disagree with the author. He says "“Fundamentalist” religion has absolutely nothing in common with Islam or Christianity as cited by their founders."

In the case of Christianity this is true, so it's easy to project that it's true about Islam. But that projection is FALSE.

Mohammed was not a religious man, he was a desert thief who led many raids, killed many people, took people as slaves and women as concubines, had many wives including a 9 year old girl, and pretty much orders his followers to act as he did in the Koran. If you read the Koran, studied it and really believed it and tried to act in accordance with it's principles it's quite likely you'd end up acting like Osama Bin Laden.

Fundamentalist Islam isn't a perversion of Islam, it is true Islam as Mohammed meant it to be.

Oh please! It has everything to do with islam. Islam at it’s is fundamentalist. Throughout the koran there are calls for the subjugation or death of non believers. You’ve fallen for a lie.

“The religion (islam) was never intended to be the basis of oppression, any more than Christianity. After the extremely and vicious bloody civil war in which the Prophet emerged victorious, the idea was to create a society, not a jail. Terrorist groups routinely breach every principle of Islam on a daily basis, particularly the word “peace”, which is what the word Islam actually means.

Utterly false.

Mohammed spread Islam via the force of the sword, while Jesus was a man of peace. When you are murdering & enslaving nonbelievers as Mohammed was, clearly you favor muslim oppression.

Islam means submission, not peace. The peace islam speaks of is only amongst muslims & excludes all others. The koran frequently encourages all muslims to kill Jews & Christians, as a duty to allah.

I don't recall Jesus starting an “extremely and vicious bloody civil war”.

The “society” mohammed wanted to create was a muslim caliphate - a religious dictatorship.

The author of this article is either a muslim liar or a fool.
