Guy Ibraghim Todashev apparently according too a few articles was a MMA fighter. There is video of one of his fights in which he submitted an opponent by putting him in an ankle lock. His stated style of fighting was Russian sambo used by the Russian military.
The announcer said he was 3-2 but the mixed martial arts sites state that he is 1-0 pro and 1-0 amateur.

This guy was just arrested and put through Orange County Jail central booking on May 4th.
Not sure when he got out, but it’s not like the FBI agents were forced to confront the guy in public.
