Yes, and remember how horribly the Bushes treated that secretary of state, Mrs. Harris? They had no use for her when they no longer needed her.

But MN (and WI, MI, and OR) were supposed to be ther kind of state in which voters would be impressed with Romney.

No, that was Al Franken who stole a Senate seat from Norm Coleman with the help of a Communist-sympathizing state attorney general. And just about everyone here knows that.

Supposedly. However, not too many conservatives that I know of were thrilled with Romney. And since Republicans need their base to win elections, it’s not surprising that Romney’s weakness hurt all over the ticket, and not just in Minnesota.

Hey man...either way he’s your senator and the reason he was able to steal the election was because of the people of Minnesota who got him close enough. Al Franken would not have been a blip on the screen in a conservative state!!!!

He’s not my senator any more than Barack is your President.

Look, you’re the one who’s portraying my state to be something that historically it really isn’t. We unfortunately keep giving our Presidential electoral votes to Democrats and we conservatives here are trying to change that.

But if you look at the record you’ll see that Minnesota elects candidates of many different political stripes. Would I like to see us elect all conservatives (or nearly all conservatives, since you still have Austin) like you folks in Texas? Sure.

But judging us for Franken is like us judging you for Sheila Jackson Lee. And you don’t see me doing that.

I understand your angst...but you appear to think just because you and a minority of your state prefer that Minnesota would be a conservative state that it is, the simple facts are it is not. Just stating that it has a majority of republicans doesn’t say much for conservatism since we all know all republicans are not forged from the same conservative metal. I’ll give you it is probably better than it use to be but it is not conservative by a long shot!!!! And you are spot on about Austin....even we have our crosses to bear. And like Franken I consider Sheila Jackson Lee a great embarrassment....but she was elected in a black minority neighborhood....not by more than half the state...so your analogy breaks down.

Al Franken has kept a low profile in the Senate and was not the Alan Grayson-style clown many expected. IT’s paid off. Now it’s all a matter of who runs against him and how much money that nominee raises.

“..Now it’s all a matter of who runs against him and how much money that nominee raises.”

If it’s a candidate we like, let’s call talk shows to help that candidate, and contribute to his/her campaign, if we can afford it.
