WASHINGTON Saturdays Run as One event in the nations capital featured a low-key appearance for disgraced former CIA director David Petraeus, who participated in the 5K amid some of his most ardent supporters.
The event was one of dozens held nationwide by veterans with Team Red, White and Blue and Team Rubicon, in honor of friends lost to suicide.

Petraeus, a long-time supporter of Team RWB, has kept a low profile since resigning from the Central Intelligence Agency over an extramarital affair with a military aide. But he spoke at the event about the importance of teamwork and camaraderie, even after military service ends.
This is a reminder of what we need to do for each other, he said, referring to the team members suicides. Theres a culture of being strong [in the military], but what weve learned is that everyone needs someone else at a certain time.
The men and women on your right and left, thats what its all about.

You aren’t what we thought you were General. Unless...
Where is Ms. Broadwell?
In addition to supporting a worthy cause, he is also telling everyone he will look to others for help if or when he ever feels like killing himself.
Oh please....Bubba screwed everything that moved and he was friggin’ president...at the time!!
Probably counting her payoff.
Was wondering same thing !
Did the run go past Fort Marcy Park?
Hey Dave! Far be it for a lowly civvy like me to tell you your
biz but the closer to DC you get the wiser you would be to
pack your own lunches and don’t stray far from your tools
of self defense.
On another note does anybody have or recall Hillary’s exact
quote regarding Petraeus in that Senate hearing during
the last Bush admin? She basically called the General a liar.
I believe the issue had something to do w/the Iraq troop
surge. What an opportunity General Petraeus has to serve
his country in a way more important than anything he has
ever done in his military career. All he has to do is to
provide factual testimony regarding Benghazi and bingo....
...Hillary’s political career is toast.
The indiscretion on the General’s part does not overshadow his brilliant military career and his successes on the battlefield. This article and some of the posters on this thread may wish to make the General synonymous with the scandal but, in reality, he was, is and will always be a hero! Small, insignificant people can comment otherwise if they so choose; doing so just makes them even more small and insignificant.
“Oh please....Bubba screwed everything that moved and he was friggin president...at the time!!”
As I understand, Bubba never graduated from Oxford. Yes, he got into Oxford with the help of J. William Fulbright, a respected Congress person but Oxford was on the verge of expelling Bubba for screwing every woman he could find; instead, he withdrew. He never graduated.
Sorry. Gen. Stanley Allen McChrystal is the hero. When he spoke the truth to this administration and got axed, Petraeus saw it as a career opportunity. That’s more than an “indiscretion.”
“The indiscretion on the Generals part does not overshadow his brilliant military career and his successes on the battlefield.”
I agree 100% - thanks for this statement. Does one think that Ms. Broadwell was a set up from the get-go? You Bethca. Do we not forget “Patraeus Betray Us?” and that little fact about Hildabeast nearly / did call him a liar. Revenge from the left.
I hope he DOES spill his guts to Congress. Why not?
“Sorry. Gen. Stanley Allen McChrystal is the hero.”
I agree McChrystal is a hero. After spending plenty of time in VN, I know there’s always room for more than one hero - Petraeus is also a hero. McChrystal could not have achieved his success had Patraeus not achieved HIS success.
