Parade Magazine is apologizing for a design flub that paired a Nazi battleship with an award winning U.S. Navy chef, the magazines top editor told USNI News on Monday.
The story featured Senior Chief Culinary Specialist Derrick Davenport, a chef for the Joint Chiefs Chairman, who won the gold medal in the March 38th Annual Military Culinary Arts Competition at Fort Lee, Va.
But topping the heart warming tale of Davenports rise to the gold from the broom closet sized kitchen of the attack sub USS Annapolis (SSN-760) was a collection of ship silhouettes that included the most notorious Nazi battleships of World War II the Bismarck-class.

Reminds me of the Democrats using the Russian Naval fleet as the backdrop to one of their speeches.

As the military becomes as alien as a Martian to today’s imbecilic “press,” such mistakes only multiply.

The Bismarck-class silhouette is shown TWICE - the one under the fork, the other under the frying pan.

What the F*** is the matter with people. A black silhouette is going to offended someone somewhere sometime? Looking at that graphic I doubt that one person in a million would look at that one silhouette and think. OH horrors! That is a WWll German ship. It's a G.D. newspaper inserted magazine being read mostly by very low information voters, for God's sake.

Hey it is the media. One floating thing looks just like any other floating thing.
Just like our floating thing in the WH.

HAH!!
The silhouette appears TWICE!!
Just last year the RATS used images of Soviet ships and Turkish fighters to honor US vets at the RAT convention.
MSM and RATS....birds of a feather.

The ironic thing (for people that might care) is the Kreigsmarine was the most pluralistic of the German armed services, to the point there were jewish officers serving.

Apologies from this administration will continue to fall on deaf ears.
With them it is an admission of Guilt with “No Legal Controlling Authority” no “Guilt” no “Repercussions” no matter the subject or infraction.

No offense to anyone, but the German ships were definitely the better looking ships. What’s sad is that the German ships that were captured were just used for nuclear target practice after WW2. Darn shame one of them didn’t become part of a museum like the U-505 did.

Wow - I noticed that this weekend. My dad served on the Iowa and so the battleship profile caught my eye. I noticed four turrets and thought "Did the get a Montana silhouette in there?". Didn't realize it was actually a Nazi ship.
To: MeganC
Sorry, Megan, Might have to disagree with you on that one.I find the Iowa Class to the finest class of Warships ever built.
Drop Dead Gorgeous.
But you are right, The Bikini Tests was the Fate of Prinz Eugen, which was Bismark's Escort on it's Famous Mission.

Concur..you are spot on. The Iowa class BBs are gorgeous..clean lines...
The German ships look cluttered..in part because the keels and hulls were laid down to conform with treaties supposedly in effect at the time..they piled all the stuff on top..especially the AA turrets... later on
The German pocket battleships..Graf Spee, etc..had a menacing,powerful look..
