Senator Lamar Alexander has been a thorn in Tennessee’s side since 1979. He is not a conservative Republican. In fact, truth be known, he has sided with Obama over 62% of the time. Right now he is acting as the bagman for his buddy, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, and his great desire to tax the internet and put more small businesses out-of-business.
First though, let’s look at Lamar’s history. He has worked in the private sector for only short periods of time. Lamar was Born in Maryville, Tennessee, which is only 20 minutes from where I live. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and New York University School of Law.
In 1967, Alexander joined the campaign of Howard Baker, who became the first Tennessee Republican elected to the Senate in four decades. Alexander then accompanied him to Washington.
It was at a Hill staff softball game that he met his wife, Leslee “Honey” Buhler. She was working for Senator John Tower, the man instrumental in getting John McCain elected to the House. In the early years of their marriage, she raised their four children while doing volunteer work, specifically for Planned Parenthood. She was also a member of the board of the Corporation of Public Broadcasting (NPR and PBS).
Alexander worked as a legislative assistant to GOP sellout Senator Howard Baker, (Link). In 1982, for no apparent reason, but to go along and get along, then-Republican Senate MAJORITY Leader, and CFR member, Howard Baker, entered into an agreement with the Ku Klux Klansman from West Virginia, (Democrat Senator Robert Byrd).

With the exception of the excellent lady congresswoman from Tennessee (I forget her name at this time) all the rest of the Volunteer State’s politicians, and especially those who call themselves Republicans are a disgrace!

Rep US Marsha Blackburn, she was a State Senator then, she was the one that helped stop the secret passage of a state income tax which is UNCONSTITUTIONAL in TN. There is a process if you want to do that and the dem controlled congress and RINO gov tried to bypass it.
Our protesting was met with AK47’s............no bricks were thrown, no one beaten up, except the protestors, only honk honking and signs on the protestors part. Some had their cars broken into by the street criminals.
only because he and corker actually do vote an occasional conservative vote, not often enough though. Still to liberal and all corker does is make himself richer up there. Time to retire both, and reform our primaries so 2 conservatives can’t be beat by a moderate wishy washy idiot. The losing in the poles conservative simply has to drop out and put his weight behind the leading conservative and that one would win.
Howard Baker forced through the last dam on the Little Tennessee River, flooding the Cherokee villages and creating a new lake. The TVA bought large tracts of lake shore farm land that was ultimately sold to land developers including Howard Baker.
He spoke at a local JC meeting and the wife of a close friend remarked that if she knew he was so short she wouldn’t have voted for him
