Werfel will replace Steven Miller, ousted Wednesday amid revelations that the IRS improperly singled out conservative groups for special scrutiny.

Boston.com needs to get with it. Miller didn't get ousted. He voluntarily resigned as his temporary job was soon ending.

"It is with regret that I will be departing from the IRS as my acting assignment ends in early June," Miller said in an internal message that was released by the IRS.
