She apparently had the choice of having her boobs cut off or taking a pill every day for the rest of her life (if that’s the truth as reported this morning on tv). If this is true, she’s a nut. And I’ve always thought she was a weirdo.
I know someone else who did this. In a way I understand it. In another way, its kind of creepy. My Mother had breast cancer and had to have her breasts removed. I think a woman would only undergo this procedure as a last resort. Definitely a Hobson’s choice.
There has to be more to this story. Who wouldn’t choose a pill over double mastectomy, especially a Hollywood sex symbol? Is the pill Tamoxifen? That pill lowers one’s risk but does not virtually eliminate it, like a double mastectomy does. Anyway, lots of women are making the choice Jolie did; it’s a very drastic choice and nothing any woman wants. I can’t believe they’re doing it if there’s another option.
