A report by a political activist and reservist combat soldier claims the IDF has effectively capitulated in the face of Arab rock and firebomb attacks.
Writing in the web magazine Mida, Erez Tadmor says that in the past week, since the grave injury of Yaakov Zlatkin at the hands of an Arab mob, he has spoken with dozens of officers and soldiers who all said the same thing: The health and security of Jews who live in Judea and Samaria, as well as those of the soldiers who are supposed to guard them, have been left to the mercy of the enemy.
The data show a sharp rise in the number of rock and fire bomb attacks, possibly in the hundreds of percentage points, writes Tadmor, and a growing number of soldiers have suffered injuries to the limbs and face in the past few weeks. "But most serious of all is the fact that IDF soldiers are operating without motivation to strive for contact with the enemy and refrain from any proper response to the threats to their lives and those of the civilians.
"Central Command and the Judea and Samaria theater have turned into a Russian roulette in the last few months, in which the lives, health and dignity of soldier and civilians hang in the balance, while Palestinian marauders enjoy near complete immunity in what an only be described as operational recklessness."

They need to respond to attempted murder of a soldier or of a civilian within sight of a soldier the way any civilized soldier of the past 5,000 years (until the 1960s) would have been expected and even ordered to respond. We cannot allow terrorists to win. Ever.

Israel’s leaders are the descendants of European Jews deeply committed to socialism. Golda Meir was an American Socialist.
Somewhere in their past, Jews seem to have confused the Mosaic call for a just society with “social justice”.
For such a simplistic error, they deserve whatever is visited upon them.
For now, it is only stones. Worse is sure to follow if they do not reject their socialist propensities.

Soldiers put into such positions can often become very creative. In their case, preparing ahead of time, they could pull some good psychological warfare on the Paleos.
If permitted to use water cannon for example, they could label the cannon “pork juice”, with a large sign in Arabic. Then, once it’s seen, without comment, remove the sign.
They could also use the trick of the Civil War Union military governor of New Orleans, Benjamin “The Beast” Butler, who when facing the problem of women assailing Union soldiers, created a curfew with the condition that any woman detained would be regarded as “plying her trade” as a prostitute. It worked wonders.
Imagine charging obnoxious Paleo women with prostitution when detained. Their families would go nuts.

My understanding is that the order by Gen Butler to label local New Orleans women as prostitutes was just cover for authorizing mass rape by Union soldiers. Worked wonders, indeed.
I can’t imagine too many Israeli soldiers really wanting to do that with Palestinian women. Otherwise, I don’t think Palestinians really care what the charges are when arrested by Israelis. Charges of prostitution, or adultery, by a Muslim authority, on the other hand, would be a “whole ‘nother” issue...

Biblical familiarity is not the Israeli Jewish problem - they do read Hebrew, I must point out. Jewish men are expected to study and observe Mosaic Law (Torah) and the academic history and commentaries thereon (Talmud).
Their problem is socialism.
Oh, yeah - wasn’t there a Commandment “Don’t Steal”?
