Many people in Seminole County are right now getting jury notices that could lead them to the huge role of deciding George Zimmerman’s fate.
But are some people talking about getting a notice too much? And could that affect how fair of a trial Zimmerman could get?
“They’re all excited, everybody’s watching the mailbox every day to see if they’re going to get one of those letters that come through the mail,” said Francis Oliver, the Curator of Sanford’s Goldsboro Museum.
And when people do get them, some are talking about it a lot -- even on Facebook. There’s a post for example, where one man writes,
“I'm for a life sentence without hearing any evidence. I'm pretty sure they'll send me home.” He goes on to say, “I also believe in a fair trial for all but I'm not the right guy for this case.”
Oliver, who led protests last year pushing for Zimmerman’s arrest, said she wants a fair trial for both sides.
She said even people with strong opinions about the case can consider both sides at trial. She worries some potential jurors are going too far.
“Don’t get eliminated before you even get a chance to be questioned. We definitely don’t want it to the point that all blacks are eliminated because we got over excited and blew our chances. At least give us a chance. Give yourself a chance,” said Oliver.
Oliver even posted a notice on her own Facebook page, advising people of what not to do if you get a summons.
“Just kind of calm down, keep our mouths closed, take your envelope, report to wherever they tell us to report,” said Oliver.

This idiot deserves to be tried for something serious by a biased jury of his peers!

No right to a speedy trial, and apparently no right to a jury of his peers. Goodbye, 6th Amendment.
94% of the blacks in America think that Zimmerman is guilty despite all the evidence to the contrary, and here you have a woman connected to the Scheme Team advising blacks how to conceal their bias and stealthily get on that jury.
Obama has been whipping up hate for over 4 years, and it's going to be expressed, big time, sooner or later.
The charges ought to be dropped. There should BE no trial.
Uncle Chip you might want to look into a little side work for the defense checking out Facebook profiles and tweets.
Remember, the officials in the county where the trial will be held MUST insure blacks are selected for the jury trying Zimmerman. I would not be surprised to see an all black jury. In short, there will be massive manipulation of the legal process to get that necessary conviction.
A few background points to consider in discussions of the Zimmerman trial:
1. Culture and IQ are determinative.
2. American blacks have some 40% of their numbers walking around with an IQ of 80 or less.
3. American black academic performance and mastery of cognitively demanding roles is actualized as would be expected by their IQ(see #4, below).
4. Some American blacks hold cognitively demanding jobs well above their ability level due racially based hiring practices mandated by government.
Due to the above, perhaps America has become a racist society with American blacks exhibiting the racism. One can only imagine what Martin Luther King would have said about such a development.
I read somewhere that the court has real time software that will enable them to check out Twitter/Facebook for each applicant as they are being interviewed/screened to compare what they claim to their tweets and posts.
If me sitting on that jury keeps a Black KKK Racist off...I would find ways to get on, too
I would not mind going thru jury selection. If asked why I should be recused “the prosecutor, Martin family lawyers, media, are lying SOBs....if I had a kid that big banging my head on the sidewalk I’d cap his a&+# too”
I have sat on two Seminole County trials.... and I am due to be called again. Get the popcorn ready
It would seem to me that a jury that consists of any members of a community of which 94% believe you to be guilty is not a jury of your peers.
The amazing thing to now watch will be the BGI, that has for over a year been seeking to lynch Zimmerman despite the evidence to the contrary, now coming forth and disavowing that biased hatred claiming their fairness and committment to justice.
O’Mara knows what he has to do and he better do it.
O’Mara should file a Motion for jury instructions of an either/or verdict to bring this thing to an end once and for all:
Either 2nd degree murder or Acquittal with Full Immunity.
Nothing in between: No manslaughter. No hung jury. No Mistrial. It’s either all one or all the other. A 6-0 jury or they stay there in that room until hell freezes over.
At least he is honest. He will not be chosen. The one’s who don’t give that opinion but think it are the ones to worry about.
Apparently Zimmerman’s attorney believes that he can demand, and the court must grant, a hearing like a Summary Judgement at any time even during trial. Apparently under Florida law the issue of WHEN the Motion must be filed and heard has not been decided. (Unfortunately I can’t remember what Florida calls the Motion dispositive of the criminal case in favor of the defendan,. Hence, I used the term Summary Judgement which really applies in a Civil case.)
He has no clue at all of how the system must work.
Mobile Television trucks, breathless reporters, breaking news, doctored tapes, poverty pimps on every corner... Lots more hoopla than the typical 'Hispanic male kills black male' ever gets...
The problem? The press - ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN - can't admit this story was ginned up because they mistakenly thought the perp was a white middle-class conservative. It's tricky. The MSM is stuck covering a “D” story rather than an “A-List” story... Hispanic kills black is back page stuff - if it makes the news at all...
But the MSM is too embarrassed about their real motivation in this story - so they'll keep covering this ...It an interesting study in liberal elite's deluding themselves.
