Top GOP Senator Says Obama Could Be Impeached Over ‘Most Egregious Cover-Up in American History’

The top-ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee said President Barack Obama could possibly be impeached over what happened in Benghazi.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) said in a radio interview Thursday that “of all the great cover-ups in history” — including the Pentagon papers, Iran-Contra and Watergate — Benghazi “is going to go down as most serious, most egregious cover-up in American history.”

“We may be starting to use the I-word before too long,” Inhofe said on the Las Vegas-based “Rusty Humphries Show.”

“The I-word meaning impeachment?” Humphries asked.

“Yeah,” Inhofe confirmed.

When Humphries questioned the likelihood of impeachment, Inhofe said it wouldn’t be immediate.....

Since impeachment is an action of the House, it is a possibility. Conviction being an action of the Senate, that will never happen.

What value is there in impeachment alone? It makes an historical statement of grave abuses of power by the president.

A President orchestrating the LIE TO ALL OF AMERICA that a terrorist attack was a protest to enable his re-election is criminal. To do so directly in front of the victim’s families is despicable.

At a minimum Zero needs to stand in front of the American MEDIA - all of it - and announce that he LIED in order to be reelected in order to carry out his party's very important task of TRANSFORMING America without the need of any stinkin' Constitutional Amendments.

I heard interviews all week clearly stating it is not against the law for a politician to LIE to the public. Why was Hildebeast not put under oath when she testified on Benghazigate? GOP and you answer that? Both parties STINK.

The dam began to break early in 1973 thanks to Judge Sirica and James McCord. In the summer of 1973 there were the Ervin committee hearings which dominated the news. Howard Baker asked, "What did the President know and when did he know it?" but it looked like the Nixon loyalists would protect Nixon himself...until we learned about the tapes. After the Saturday Night Massacre in October, the impeachment proceedings got started. Yes, there were hearings in the summer of 1974 but those were the House Judiciary Committee hearings (Peter Rodino) which led to the vote on articles of impeachment.

That's where Hillary got her start. Fellow Democrat Jerome Zeifman observed her at the time and has denounced her unethical conduct.

I think I'd rather see Obama have to resign in disgrace than to watch an impeachment process (which would fail--the Senate when it had a Republican majority could not convict Clinton when there was open-and-shut evidence of his committing perjury).

But that Obama would ever have the decency to resign is about as likely as Ben Crump admitting that he made up DeeDee's conversation with Trayvon.
