I read somewhere that you aren’t supposed have a life like gun.

He remained in custody Wednesday evening, on charges that include reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Sad, but regardless the law, it ought to be easy to prove no reckless endagerment was comitted.

“How can people stand to live in New York?”

Those ‘Big Sh*ty Persons’ have lived all their lives on asphalt or concrete, are dependent on big government for life’s basic resources, safety, education.

Welcome to life in the “Hive”, where each is a ‘worker bee’ and the government is supreme.

Having family from there, be assured those people are far more Hamiltonian than Jeffersonian in outlook. As the Founders such as Jefferson predicted, Big Sh*ty Persons are very similar to Europeans, not AMericans.

Less than 20 years ago you could have bought a realistic cap gun at any NYC grocery/candy store. So many kids used to be outside having fun. Playing cops/robbers, street hockey, basketball, etc.

Today you never see any kids except for them going to/from their parents car.

When Sandy took the power out, the neighborhood was suddenly full of awkward looking, ghost white, chubby kids wandering outside. Many holding their smartphones in the air desperately trying to catch a signal.

Strange times are ahead…

Maybe he threatened to beat his child with the plastic toy. Other than to make money, I don’t understand why anyone would “live” in New York. ...but there’s much more to life than money.

You are correct. In NY, bb guns and airsoft guns must be brightly colored, not life like looking.

And here is this guy shooting it in a crowded park that was full of other children. Not only did he let his 3 year old son shoot it, he gave it to his daughter who rode around the park on her bike and pointed it at other children.

***it ought to be easy to prove no reckless endagerment was comitted. ***

Witnesses said that the father not only let his 3 year old shoot it in a crowded park, but also allowed his daughter to ride around the park on her bike with the gun and point it at other children.

This is the new nanny state game they arrest this guy under false pretenses as a scare tactic to all the parents that don’t find their kids playing with toys offensive.

This guy will now file charges for false arrest the city will pay him under the table but the result is the government looks like they were right.

Are you effing kidding me? He exposed the toddler to arrest and probable body cavity search by tyrannical shite-for-brains liberals! How do YOU define endangerment??

SO WHAT ??? For cryin out loud, it was a TOY GUN like the cap guns I and my friends played with 70 years ago. When we got old enough (10-12) most of us were given a shotgun or a .22 rifle if we wanted to hunt squirrels and rabbits. My grandfather taught me to shoot his .22 rifle when I was 9 and shells for his 12 guage Winchester pump gun were hard to get during WWII. I don't remember any of my cousins or friends at that approximate age whose parents wouldn't let them use a gun for hunting, or even for making holes in tin cans. OK, yeah we had to have an adult with us when we were shooting real guns, but nobody was arrested and if they had been any jury would have laughed the prosecutor out of the courtroom.

Has the entire US gone nuts, or does it only seem that way to people like me who are old enough to remember when the great majority of the American people weren't insane?

[[Sad, but regardless the law, it ought to be easy to prove no reckless endagerment was comitted. ]]

The article says he ‘fired the weapon’- what does htis mean? A projectile came out with neouhg force to kill someone if it had hit them? Or did it just make a bang sound? If a gun was fired, in a park, then yeah- he should be arrested- if a FAKE gun went bang- NOONE WAS ENANGERED- not even minors!

The guy violated NY law by owning that gun. And he violated NY law by firing it in a public park. (Cap guns are legal by the way)

The dad is so stupid and devoid of any knowledge of gun safety, when the he was interviewed by the local news, he pointed it at the camera man and pulled the trigger several times.

If that guy had let his 5 year old daughter point a loaded bb gun at my kids, he would have had a problem with me.
