ALT LAKE CITY Police have released dash-cam footage in a chase on I-15 last week that led police through Salt Lake County.
The chase started at about 12:50 p.m. on I-15 near 12300 South. Dash-cam footage shows a woman driving a black Volvo passing a Utah Highway Patrol trooper in the emergency lane. The woman, identified as Lisa Anne Sovereen, 44, refused to pull over as speeds reached 80 mph.
Sovereen called 911 and asked the dispatcher "that the trooper get off her back," according to UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson. She said she believed the trooper would try to ram her car. When the UHP called her back, she said she was not required to pull over and that police had stolen her previous vehicle and taken her blood.

Well, since the “sovereign citizens” have decided they exist in a Lockean/Hobbesian state of nature, vis-a-vis the rest of the world, it’s hardly surprising when they end up on the wrong end of the “war of all against all”.
(At a theoretical level in terms of social contract theory the “sovereign citizen” movement has something to commend itself, but this is one of those examples where theory and practice are very different: at a practical level they’re complete nutcases.)

80 MPH is hardly Rodney King level highway driving. What was she driving, a four cylinder Volvo 240 ?

She should have brought a Kamatsu KillDozer with a concrete overshield.
Drive down the interstate at any speed in one of those and yeah, you’re a sovereign citizen.

If you're an American conservative, you really should be familiar with the social contract theory of John Locke (and Thomas Hobbes), since Lockean ideas were the basis for much of the Founding Fathers' thinking on government and society.
I commend to your attention Locke's Two Treatises on Government and Hobbes's Leviathan.

The Lockean/Hobbsean thing is basically ‘if a person is fully responsible and accountable for their fate they should be unfettered in achieving it.
Something like that.

Yes, I would expect the chase to have been nasty, brutish, and short.
