I see that the tactic of using simple statistical observations as support for whatever position the left is advancing — whether it makes sense to, or not — has broken out of the climate change sphere and found wider application.

How does a sharply reduced number of gun homicides help the left?

Other than pointing out the stupidity of blaming gun violence on violent movies and video games, which a lot of people on the right do.

Yeah. How *does* it?

How does temperatures *dropping* bolster a global *warming* theory?

Yet they will try to use it! Whether it makes sense to, or not. Hide and watch.

The “Assault Weapons” ban went into effect in 1993-1994. And there are more gun laws now and less crime, ergo (to the simple mind) more laws = less crime.

Never mind that when the ban was ended, the crime continued to go down. Never mind that more gangsters are in jail today than in 1994.
