The FBI has taken into custody a Minnesota man who was believed to be plotting a terrorist attack. Buford Rogers, 24, of Montevideo, was arrested Friday after authorities searched his home and found guns and explosive devices, according to an FBI news release.

I seriously doubt he is a conservative. More like a democrat or on the outside an anarchist libertarian hybrid.
Sounds bogus to me. Not a terrorist, but a minor criminal punk, I’d guess.
With Benghazi testimony coming up, sounds more like the FBI trying to sound still relevant to the American people.
“He has a past conviction for felony burglary and a 2009 misdemeanor for dangerous handling of a weapon”
Obviously a hard Right Conservative in the Reagan mold.
I’m sure the FBI is under extreme pressure to find ONE right wing ‘terrorist’... All that bullsh*t about the ‘vast right wing conspiracy’ has to have ONE person behind it, right? Thirty of thirty one people on the FBI terrorists list ARE MUSLIM... but Homeland thinks it’s all equal... Yeah, the only people dumb enough to buy that are member of the MSM..
If the guy’s white - and conservative - the New York Times Boys will reach down and find they have a pair... They missed on the Boston boys - and a beat up Muslim girlfriend - they missed on the “muslim’ angle - but they sure as hell will be able to connect ONE dot to their strawman enemy.
Let’s see what they’ve got...
Most certainly not a terrorist. Probably some personal grudge. Maybe drug-related.
This is southern Minnesota farm country, not the northwoods that appeals to anti-government types.
Only called ‘terrorist’ to pad the white Christian male stats.
With a name like “Buford,” he’s got to be one of ‘em red neck hicks. Quick, we need to charge him so that people forget about Boston and Benghazi!
>>>”suspected pipe bombs” Are they bombs or not?<<<
Well, you see, he had pipes in his house and he COULD have mode them into bombs...see? And where he’s white and his name is ‘Buford’ he’s the perfect scapegoat for the left’s ‘hate whitey’ impulses that they exposed after the Boston attacks. Therefore anything that makes this schmuck fit their predetermined narrative is going to be ‘suspected’ or ‘alleged’.
Yeah, sounds like he must have read Ayn Rand
No just a nut with a gripe.
He will be whatever Obama, Napolitano and MSNBC want him to be.
I don’t think he’s a terrorist and certainly not an Islamic one. If he were, he’d be driving around in a BMW wearing designer clothes getting $100,000 from welfare in between jaunts to an Al Qaeda training camp while Ja-nut Manpolitano focuses on those “right wing extremists”.
True, or we will never hear of it again.
His name is.... BUFORD?
Ahhhh .... Finally found a white guy.
I’m guessing the explosive devices were fireworks leftover from last year or he was stocked up on ammonia and bleach and had a greenhouse.
Now that THIS has happened, I forgot all about the Benghazi hearings.. /s
Oh...you must work for the media!
"I'm no terrorist, you sumbitch."
What the heck is a “localized terror attack”? A feud with your next door neighbor?
And what are “suspected pipe bombs”? Some rusty plumbing parts lying in a heap under the house trailer?
And do you suppose this dufus actually had completed Molotov cocktails lying around, you know, crates of Coke bottles full of gasoline with rags sticking out the tops? Or maybe the “cocktails” consisted of a pile of old Coke bottles and some dirty clothes under the trailer along with a gas can for the lawn mower?
Odd that he was only charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm if he was an actual terrorist with bombs and Molotov cocktails and such.
A guy named Buford, living in a trailer park, playing with things that blow up - who woulda thunk it?
“A guy named Buford, living in a trailer park, playing with things that blow up - who woulda thunk it?”
Well, South Carolina, maybe, but Minnesota? But then again I’m continuously reminded that redneck is a state of mind, not a geographic location.
From the other comments, it sounds like this guy is not a bearded savage terrorist, but an American with materials that can go boom.
>>The FBI said in the release that the lives of numerous Montevideo residents were potentially saved.<<
They must have broken their damn legs jumping to that conclusion.
Not to mention an NRA member, prolly a Palin supporter too!
I thought perhaps the buy might be one of 0bama’s nephews who would look like him, but I was wrong.
That's how I read it too. Consider this, the Feds still haven't been able to guess at what the Boston bombers motivation was, but in this case they are certain the individual was motivated to be a terrorist.
As you said, it sounds like they caught a petty criminal with a few items that go bang. And what was the armored vehicle needed for? They likely could have just waited for him to walk out his door and then cuff him in a routine arrest.
I read this as a sign that the Feds are making a case much larger than this one felon.
Don’t get much more white bread (lefse?) than Chippewa County, Minnesota!
OMG! It's an entire terror network!
Gotta justify those Homland Security grants somehow.
Same crap goers on here in North Central WV. “Terrorism”, “Terrorist”, “Terrorist Act” and “Terrorist Threat” are the new buzz-words of small town PDs and Sheriff’s Depts.....makes ‘em feel important.
Imagine Feds find a plumber who reloads.
LOL, like Buford T Justice?
How about Buford H. Pusser?
Well, I thought about him too, but if I am not mistaken, he is no longer with us, so I did not want to mention him.
He was murdered on August 21, 1974, but the official cause of death was by injuries sustained in a “car accident”.
Is his first name ‘Bubba’?
