Oh those guns! And nothing turns me on like a huge phat ass in a tie-dyed dress over too-tight French bikini briefs! Yowza!

Seriously laughing out loud CL!! You, Spinal Tap, and Sir Mix-A-Lot are in agreement.

Isn’t this what the NSA has always done?

You are a serious babe. I loves me some Also Sprach Zarathustra, and Abba. (Even Frida.) Don’t like Adelle, too much like Chinese water torture. You have some serious good vids on your profile.

:^)

You can guarantee they’re monitored for key words. I don’t talk politics on the phone for that reason.

:) That’s very sweet of you to say that CL. Thank you. I’m way behind on getting more up there. I’ve got way too many likes now...my FR page will be a hundred miles long. :)

A trip of a hundred miles starts with a single step.

Very true and a good reminder! That's kind of what I tell myself with my housework when I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'll revise my motto...one day, one chore, one video at a time.

If you want to talk to someone and it not be recorded, sit down with them face to face and talk to them.

And make sure neither one of you has a cellphone ( off or on), are sitting where a directional mike can record you, or windows nearby that can be read with an infrared laser. In other words, nowhere.

I thought that they couldn’t tap land lines. That’s why I have a land line. I though if I ever needed secrecy I could call other land lines. Cell phones transmit out in space, land lines go through the wires, No?

OH and FUBO

That advice isn't just good for housework. I work in this big industrial scientifical research place and it works there too. And I like doing the housework too. I have laundry to do in the morning. If I don't do it...well....

One would be wise to assume that anything electronic can be swiped.

And even face-to-face is dependent on the trustworthiness of the other guy.

Oh, and . . .

Well let’s kick some numbers around.

For purposes of archival, allowing for poor quality in favor of completeness, one’s life could be continuously recorded on HD video at the rate of about 1TB per year. In large volume optimized for the purpose (constant recording, occasional limited playback), that kind of storage could cost maybe $10 per citizen for total 24/7/365 surveillance. $3B/yr is feasable for federal budget of such a project.

That we’re talking occasional digital audio communications over a few easily tapped trunk lines, total cost is far less than always-on HD video.

Short answer: sounds impossible from sheer volume of storage, but in fact very feasible.

Uh-huh.

Should they want to convict you, they just sift thru your audio and show the jury you’re the kind of guy who would cuss out your brother on the phone because you thought he let his wife steal your lawn mower.

Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. That doesn’t start with your Miranda rights being read to you, that includes any dirt they can dig up - and having every phone call you ever made, that’s a lot if dirt which can be construed out of context.

Do a quick google search with your screen name (in quotes), freerepublic.com and you have answered your question.

I am sure you meant 30 WPM, not 300.

But I did know a very good X-Mil CW op who could copy 75 WPM in his head driving down the road. (I do not exaggerate)

I have a chit of paper that says I can do 30 WPM.

The interesting thing is, just as CALEA and the Patriot Act were implemented, the telecom industry collapsed and along with it were dispersed to the winds most of the people having technical understanding of the capabilities.

I work in this big industrial scientifical research place and it works there too.

Oh it works for all kinds of things in life. I also tell myself Rome wasn't built in a day. Then I tell myself, they didn't have FR as a distraction though!

I have laundry to do in the morning. If I don't do it...well....

I won't even try to guess what those consequences are.
