Boston bands Aerosmith and New Kids on the Block, singer-songwriter James Taylor and country singer Jason Aldean will headline a concert to benefit the victims of last month's Boston Marathon bombing, organizers said on Friday...
All proceeds from the concert will go to The One Fund, which was set up by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. Tickets priced from $35 to $285 go on sale on Monday.

There you go. All performers will be warned to NEVER mention the ideology of hate that perpetrated the attack.
Of course, had this attack been done by some idiot who CLAIMED to be a "Christian" or a "Tea Partier", EVERYONE would be REQUIRED to make a statement denouncing the entire population of Christians and/or Tea Partiers.

Between Patrick & Mumbles Menino, I'd be willing to bet less that 5% of the funds raised actually get to where they're supposed to go... And Patrick will refuse to release those records too, due to "privacy concerns!"

Why do we need such a concert?
To assuage guilt? To make a feel good difference? To have a venue for smoking pot?

I am from Boston, and grew up in the era when many of these musicians were getting their start.
The Epitome of a plum gig was getting booked into a venue known as “The Boston Tea Party”. LOL.
Life is full of irony.

You can be assured that if devalerie said that all the money would go to the fund that it really means 90% (dems favorite %) will end up in someones pocket. Was there a concert for sandy hook? .38 special could have been the headliner. Yeah, I’m pretty sick. Oh, and tired of the “victims” allowing themselves to be used by the radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbag socilists to try to deny MILLIONS of citizens their rights.

Show me an individual harmed by this attack who literally needs financial help or a family who lost a breadwinner who literally needs financial help, and I'll gladly give to them. To
them. Feel-good symbolism with the goal of attracting money also attracts leeches of the very worst sort, and right there at the top you have a prime example of this. I already don't have much use for the headliner acts, bunch of has-beens posing for a little glory in their waning years.
But Jason Aldean disappoints me. I won't view him or his music in quite the same light in the future.

The headline reads;
“Rock, pop, country singers to headline Boston benefit concert”, so I assumed it was a concert to benefit the either the bomb victims or a fund raiser for the bombers. Since this is 2013 and we never know for sure where these "stars" stand. Then in the second paragraph, I see it is for the
“The One Fund”
WTF? WTH? They have fund set up for Broncho Bamma?

... The One Fund, which was set up by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. Oh, I'd trust those guys 100% with my money. Everything about them just screams honesty!

Pretty much, yes. These days people have to dive headfirst into every tragedy that happens and make it all about themselves.....it just makes them feel so caring, you see.
It would be a better idea to hold a concert to fund a fourth Crusade.

All proceeds from the concert will go to The One Fund, Wasn't Zippy referred to as "The Won". In reality, money from this concert will eventually land in the White Hut.

Jason Aldean disappoints me. Yeah, the drunk fornication while driving shtick was so edifying, up until now.

Are you sure you’re not thinking of Randy Travis?
Aldean has his problems of late, stardom seems to be going to his head. I don’t keep up with tabloid gossip, but went and looked to see what you meant. Appears he’s going to lose his marriage over flirtatious behavior but nothing like what you’ve said.
He’s a sinner. Not to dismiss his sins, but we all are. My problem is this: his beliefs as indicated by the lyrics of his music do not support his presence at this benefit. He should be doing this for the people of West, Texas.

I am going to guess Patrick never heard of that venue or the Channel or the Rat.
