Tazhayakov was allowed to return to the U.S. from Kazakhstan in January despite not having a valid student visa, a federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press. His student visa status had been terminated because he was academically dismissed from the university, said the official, who was not authorized to discuss the case and spoke on condition of anonymity... Hey, who needs any sort of valid paperwork to enter the US.

Kadyrbayev was an engineering major. Tamerlan and Dzhokhar's high school has an engineering career plan program, so did one of them learn to connect wires there?

ping

Why have we not been told the identity of Dzhokhar’s room mate who let these three morons into their room? If these three losers were able to put two and two together, then the room mate must have as well. Who kicks back and watches movies after finding out their friend is a murderer and terrorist? Who is so relaxed, he takes a nap while the others dispose of evidence???

I thought it was the destruction of evidence that led to charges, not "friendship".

Does anyone really think these three will ever do any serious time? They’ll be out and on the public dole quicker than you can say Massachusetts.

Well I can see them sleeping and watching movies when you look at the time lines ....and the fact... it was while they were watching movies they noted his backpack......plus they were students so likely drinking as well which would account for the one kid sleeping if he had too much or low tolerance.

These guys didn’t have much grey matter beween the ears in the first place as school transcripts reveal failing. Not to mention even American students make ridiculously stupid judgements in college.

My brother made a pipe bomb many years ago when he was in college...set it off in the back yard...a science/math major he wanted to track it for a school project.

Neighbors called the police...they came to house and simply told him not to do it again. But then that was many years ago too. Still it was a ‘stupid thing’ to be messing with the stuff in the first place.

I can't. Shortly before 9pm on April 18th, the Kazakhstani guys and Dzhokhar are texting and Dzhokhar tells them to go to his dorm and get anything they want. They admitted they knew he was leaving and they'd never see him again. That right there proves they knew he was the bomber. Sure, maybe they were too wasted and had the munchies to get straight to business or maybe they had more cleaning up to do. I still want to know why we have not heard anything out of the room mate. Every dorm I've ever heard of has rules against any explosive or compustible yet the room mate never took notice of the fireworks? Sure, guys will try to slip in stuff. Did no other friends not go into their room? None of these guys stories hold water.

Well students don’t usually think much of fireworks being seen, nor do they “squeal” on each other...thee’s no drinking or drugs on campuses either..right!

But it’s not hard to understand why the two would try and get rid of them since the news was saying how the bombs were made from “fireworks” powder.

I’m afraid you’re going to find along the way their story does hold water pretty much....

(CNN) — The bombs used in the Boston Marathon attack were built in the apartment that suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev shared with his wife and child, a U.S. law enforcement official with first-hand knowledge of the investigation told CNN on Thursday. The official was not authorized to release the information.

Katherine Russell, Tsarnaev’s widow, has remained largely out of view inside her parents’ North Kingstown home since her husband’s death.
It remains unclear what, if anything, Tamerlan’s widow might have known or suspected, the source added.

According to her attorney, Amato DeLuca, the 24-year-old widow knew nothing of plans to bomb the race, and reports of her husband’s involvement came as an “absolute shock” to Russell and her family.
