Reid: More funding needed to prevent ObamaCare from becoming 'train wreck' By Alexander Bolton - 05/01/13 05:45 PM ET
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says he shares colleagues concerns that the Affordable Care Act could become a train wreck if its not implemented properly.
Reid warned that people will not be able to choose health insurance plans on government health exchanges if federal authorities lack the resources to set them up and educate the public.
Max said unless we implement this properly its going to be a train wreck and I agree with him, Reid said, echoing a warning delivered last month by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.).
Reid warned the federal government is not spending enough money to implement the law because of Republican opposition to ObamaCare.
Heres what we have now, we have the menu but we dont have any way to get to the menu, Reid said.
Reid made his comments during an hour-long interview on The Rusty Humphries Show broadcast Wednesday afternoon from Las Vegas.
The shortage of funding to implement the law has forced President Obama to shift funds from other parts of the law.
The president is taking money, I wish we had the money just to do this on its own but hes agreed, hes determined hes going to take money from some of the other things that he feels are less important in the healthcare bill and put it on letting you and others know whats in the bill, Reid told a caller to the show.
Reid defended the need for the law, which dramatically expanded federal healthcare subsidies for the uninsured.
I believe that a country of our size, the only superpower left in the world its not right that we have 50-60 million people with no health insurance, he said. We have to have a program where health insurance shouldnt go to people who are rich, people who are upper-middle class. I believe the middle class and people below the middle class deserve to go to the hospital when theyre sick.
Reid said he was well familiar with the law, which spanned as long as 2,000 pages when it was a bill, before it passed.
Of course I read it. I didnt sit down on a Friday evening and read it. This legislation was drafted over a period of months and months, he said. I can pass a test on it, I knew the law pretty well.
I hope the thing fails miserably and takes the American economy down with it quickly. It does nothing at all other than make slaves out of all of us. I would much assume fend for myself in totality than have this feral government anymore involved in my life (or anyone else’s). Yup, a failed American economy will result in lots and lots of death, but that is not my fault and I am simply tired of working so others (who will be in the death ne toll) can sit on their asses. Anyone worth any merit will have family and friends to take care of them. To the moochers. Fuck You.
No more money dirt bag Harry.
Let the train derail! Fine by me.
“No comment, I’d be banned..........”
Yup; me, too.
Full funding and implementation will only make the public hate it more. There is no pathway for this abomination to succeed. The failure of Obamacare should be the sole issue on which the GOP runs in 2014. Keep it simple.
The only goal is to overwhelm the system.
FO reid...go to hell all you other commies....had it...had it...had it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That would make two of us being banned.

Remember when it was going to save money and produce jobs?
...filled to capacity with orphans and puppies.
Want to know why 42% of Americans don't understand why this is law already? Because people like the Senate Majority Leader keep referring to it as "this bill", "the bill", etc. That language implies that it is still in process.
Look at his statement when he is clear it is the law:
The president is taking money, I wish we had the money just to do this on its own but hes agreed, hes determined hes going to take money from some of the other things that he feels are less important in the healthcare law and put it on letting you and others know what is in this law.
It's the law, and nobody knows what is in it.
Thanks for making me laugh!
There are no bad “progressive” ideas just failures in implementation. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Let it burn,, or work the plan till it fails.
If it were just a wee bit more affordable we wouldn’t need to subsidize it so much. Sort of like if Candy Crowley wasn’t so fat, she wouldn’t need to eat so much, so she wouldn’t be so fat ..... and wouldn’t need all that lipstick to make her pretty.
Well, I'll make this comment. Dingy hairy, take a flying **** at a rolling donut and I hope you hit it two feet from the edge of the Grand Canyon.
Let it take full. The only option for companies and small businesses will be to not pay. The guvment can blow as much as they want. Without $$$$$$$$, it won’t happen. (forget that docs will quit, hospitals will close,etc..) I am convinced, that is what they want. BEANS AND BULLETS!

Double down on dumb!
Cool.
Question #1: Are you and your family exempt from this great plan?
...get on board and put yourself and all the rest of you’re colleuges under odumbocare...

I believe workers who average less than 30 hours a week don’t have to be enrolled in Obamacare.
Thus, those in Congress can ignore the thing; because with all of their recesses, taking off usually on Fridays, etc., they are NOT working full-time for the American people who hired them. Instead, they are traveling on junkets (vacations) to other countries or going home to campaign.
