In lots of states this would go nowhere but Missouri isn’t like other states. This could be fun to watch.

Will Attorney General Chris Koster act,

I called the Attorney General's office once and was advised that the Attorney General was paid by the state and so they are to represent State Officials.

The corruption, lies, scandals, etc..etc. that come out of this administration from top to bottom are mind boggling.

I just turned 51y/o and have never in my lifetime seen a more corrupt govt. than what we have today.

Low volume ping list

FReepmail me to be on, or off, this list.

Do politicians lie boldly and not worry about it?
Are they breathing?

I read the whole thing, and as much as I'd like to see Nixon prosecuted for illegally sharing CCW info with the feral government, I don't see any evidence in Napolitano's letter.

I would imagine it is dead certain the a letter from DHS Secretary would be read by the Governor himself as it was addressed to him.

His assertion he did not know about the “your states efforts” after reading about them in this letter.

It is not Janet’s sworn duty to enforce Missouri laws so thwarting them would not be cited. It is Jay’s responsibility.

It's a form letter.

Hardly a smoking gun.

A couple of updates to the original story:

*UPDATE: The Missouri Senate filed remonstrance (h/t Adam):

This is a Senate Remonstrance against the Governor for the release by the Department of Revenue and the Department of Public Safety of personal protected information which has been publicly admitted by the departments.

*UPDATE 2: A senate hearing is underway right now led by Sen. Kurt Schaefer, Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. Moments ago while under oath a SSA agent just admitted that any veteran drawing social security disability and who had a CCW would have been a target .

The Clintoons were just as bad. We just didn’t have Free Republic back then.

Nothing like a Govenor that does not know the law or have a lawyer on staff to reshearch what the are going to do before they do it!
Ignorance of the law is not a defence and we all know that!
Good Bye! Hopefully for Mr. Nixon!

Really????

Missouri law — signed into effect by Gov. Nixon himself — prohibits full compliance with the Real ID Act. This includes sharing Missouri’s conceal carry list, which officials under Nixon did, with his full knowledge, according to this letter.

I don't see Nixon's signature on that letter.

I could send him a letter thanking him for helping me rob a bank.

Would that make him guilty of robbing a bank?

Republicans have close to or more than 2/3rds majorities in both houses of the Missouri legislature. It sounds like time to impeach the governor for “high crimes and misdemeanors”, or the Missouri equivalent.

Before they do that, however, the legislature needs to start firing state employees that complied with the governor’s orders.

Their actions should be due to “anti-democratic, anti-constitutional acts against the people of Missouri.”
