Poll: U.S. Muslims more moderate than Muslims worldwide

Muslims in America are much less inclined to support suicide bombing than other Muslims abroad, and are more likely to believe that people of other faiths can attain eternal life in heaven, according to a new report released Tuesday (April 30) by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

“The World’s Muslims” report looks at Muslim views across seven categories: Islamic law; religion and politics; morality; women; relations among Muslims; interfaith relations; and religion, science, and pop culture. There is also a special section on U.S. Muslims.

Of the countries surveyed, only a majority of Muslims in America — 56 percent — believe people of other faiths can go to heaven; by contrast, that figure among U.S. Christians is about 64 percent. U.S. Muslims are also less likely than Muslims abroad to believe in evolution, sharing views that are closer to those of U.S. Christians.

On suicide bombing, 81 percent of U.S. Muslims said it was never justified, 7 percent said it was justified to “defend Islam,” and 1 percent said it was “sometimes justified.”

Quite likely.

But your problem is that you never know when one will flip.

Go google “I have killed my Jew”.

Any and all Moslems remind me of the people in the classic movie “Telefon” where they become dormant sleeper agents.

One phone call, a keyword trigger, and they explode, literally.

Recently a Muslim co-worker suckered me into a conversation about the Boston bombers. When I read from an article that used the words "radical Islam" she went off on me saying how she is disgusted by the vilification of Islam.

Then she tried to tell me that the Koran makes no mention of killing non-Muslims.

At that point I just complimented her obvious intelligence and slowly... backed... away.

BTW, Surah 9:5, b*tch.

And as I thought, that news ervice is another liberal/muslim outreach. You should see their advisory board.

This is Omar:

Omar Sacirbey is a Boston-based correspondent for Religion News Service and other publications. In 2008, he was a finalist for the Religion Newswriters Association Templeton Reporter of the Year award, and in 2007, he placed third in the American Academy of Religion news writing contest. In 2005, he was an Alicia Patterson Foundation Journalism Fellow, focusing on Muslims in North America. Before journalism, he was an advisor with the Bosnian Foreign Ministry, serving at the United Nations in New York, and in Sarajevo and The Hague. He holds masters degrees from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, and the Columbia University School of Journalism. He also writes about business, foreign affairs, politics, and food.

I believe the percentage is greater than that anyway. This is a truly evil population that has homicide bombers; etc., appearing with the frequency of pinballs coming out of those old pinball machines. There must be a reservoir of support for the Boston Marathon bombing for such type actions to occur again and again.

Some might be more moderate, and many who claim to be more moderate are lying. They are constantly aware of the importance of the public’s perception of Islam, and many will lie to convey a more comfortable Islam to the American public.

Muslims come from an Islamic culture. In that culture, you can be killed for being the wrong kind of Muslim. They carry some of that here. Their fear of the vilification of Islam is tied to the idea that Christians here might rise up and kill them. They actually think it can happen.

We have two Mosques in town because the two factions could not get along. They built an Islamic school right off I-81 and it closed during the split. It’s a very divisive and violent religion.

After 9/11, 5 Muslim kids disappeared from my daughter’s school. The families just pulled out and went back home. They thought they were in danger from a violent backlash because that’s the way it works in the Islamic culture.

On suicide bombing, 81 percent of U.S. Muslims said it was never justified, 7 percent said it was justified to “defend Islam,” and 1 percent said it was “sometimes justified.”

I find that reassuring, if it is true. With three million Muslims in the country legally (no reliable data on the number of illegals), that means we only have about 570,000 who are unwilling to say that suicide bombings are never justified. What could go wrong?

It’s difficult to assert that islamists should be killed outright since the _resident is one himself, thus he should only be arrested, tried and then shot.

Correction:

Well you got to remember that the Muslims KNOW the non-Muslims in the USA can let’s just say “lock and load”.

Are we to believe that radical jihadists who would like to see the United States flag replaced with their own, would take time out from their planning to participate in a POLL? Oh and if we buy that, we're to then believe they would reveal themselves as radicals?

I haven't put much thought into it but has anyone made any decisions on what should be done with members of the enemedia when the SHTF? Perhaps a lifetime of servitude in the Porto Potty cleaning industry?

US Muslims better at taqiya than worldwide?
US Muslims have less understanding of their religion than worldwide?
US Muslims more apostate than those worldwide?

Could be that some U. S. muslims are “more moderate” because we have a death penalty and up until recently weren’t ashamed of waging a war on terror.
