The former North Bay congresswoman is one of six former members of Congress taking testimony at a public hearing this week at the National Press Club on what the U.S. government really knows about extraterrestrial life.
Yes. Really.
"The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure of an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race will attempt to accomplish what the Congress has failed to do for forty-five years -- seek out the facts surrounding the most important issue of this or any other time," according to the hearing's website.
Also plumbing the final frontier's mysteries this week are former U.S. Sen. Mike Gravel, D-Alaska, and former Reps. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md.; Merrill Cook, R-Utah; Darlene Hooley, D-Ore.; and Carolyn Kilpatrick, D-Mich.
The multi-day hearing, which started Monday and ends Friday, promises testimony from about 40 researchers, military officials and other witnesses. It's being live-streamed in English and Spanish -- but it's viewable only after paying a $3.80 subscription fee.
The event was organized by the Paradigm Research Group -- a UFO conspiracy-theory group in Bethesda, Md., founded by activist Stephen Bassett, which invited the former lawmakers to use their House- and Senate-honed skills in interviewing witnesses.

Kinda’ wonder what kind of government grant is paying them to be there . . . if they’re “former” members of congress, they ain’t gonna’ do nuttin’ for nuttin’, no what I mean? Somehow, the taxpayers are getting gouged.
“The Proceedings of The Institute” Volume LIX, 1968; Dr. Terrence Mysin, M.D. Phd.; Dr. Arthur E. Phact, Phd.; Dr, Penelope Sillan. M.D. Phd., Phd. authors The Proceedings are not on line but are in University libraries.
you spect me to believe that hahaha
I can only produce the data.
They’re gonna come up with something to scare the BEEjeezus out of Bath-House Barry’s base—(’cause, they’ll believe anything.)
Yes, I understand that. Just don't reproduce with Data.
The proceedings of “The Institute” are cited by all reputable students of Bigfoot; i.e. B.F.R.O. and Bo Bo come to mind. The Institute’s Dr. Phact first identified T.G.R.S.
A shame really on an interesting subject.

I have no way to know if the Paradigm Research Group gets grants or tax breaks but it's possible.
My uncle says he once saw something in the gloaming. He was way up on a tall hill and this thing was flying around below him.
I hear tell Bigfoot is telepathic. So maybe they ought to interview Bigfoot, cause I think aliens play mind games.
LOL! I got to watch that again, that was such a great flick!
I thought that was the most chilling line in the movie. (The subliminal signs were a hoot - and Spot On.)
They Live , for those who aren't initiated. :-)
Agreed.
I’ve never seen that flick or even heard of it.It sounds like a good watch though. Will look out for it.Sounds like it has a few parallels with the Matrix.
