I remember being told by a fellow FReeper a long while back that illegals have never been eligible for food stamps.
I knew it wasn’t true then, and we all know it now.
But to determine if the recipient is legally eligible for food stamps requires a background check.
As the notice states, the Obama Administration has blocked background checks on food stamp recipients to determine if they are eligible, or if they are already receiving food stamps under a different name or if they are ineligible due to being in the country illegally.
Fraud is rampant throughout the entire entitlement system

When I was 17 I worked for a summer in the apple orchards around Tonasket,WA along side migrant farm workers. Some were there on work visas, but there were many who weren’t. Many of them received food stamps. This was 1976.
