What a mess this statement is. I have to suppose they wanted to say, "The range is at most 250 yards". By saying "at least" they are allowing that the range may be within 500 yards, or within 500 lightyears, because 500 lightyears is assuredly "at least" 250 yards. Then of course, the "or less" adds nothing, since 500 lightyears is "at least" 1 inch, just as much as it is "at least" 250 yards.

I wonder about where this originated. Who is the “ According to federal officials...”? Is it another leaker from within, or have they decided they’ll need a more elaborate scenario to make the Dumb and Dumber brothers look more believable?
