Following the Boston Marathon bombing last Monday in which pressure cookers were used for the explosion, the cookware giant has decided to temporarily stop selling the items in their Massachusetts stores.
Williams-Sonoma, the specialty retailer of home furnishings and gourmet cookware with over 250 stores in the United States, has pulled pressure cookers from their shelves following the Boston Marathon bombing.
"It's a temporary thing out of respect," said Kent, who is the Store Manager of the Williams-Sonoma at the Natick Mall. He referred Patch to corporate for further questions. Williams-Sonoma also has a local branch at Legacy Place in Dedham.
Pressure cookers will still be available on the Williams-Sonoma website.

Paying the Williams-Sonoma price for a pressure cooker only to blow it up? That would have to be one dumb terrorist!
So my first reaction to buy an All American pressure canner before they were banned was not crazy...

It’s insanity that we now consider a pressure cooker as an item that has the ability to offend someone. Will Home Depot, Menards, and Lowe’s follow suit by removing all nails from their shelves?
Terrorists are patient people. They can order what they need from QVC, or LLBean. They can drive over the border; Massachusetts is not a large state. The can go see what Target has to offer. Silly of WS to think only they have what a terrorist needs.

This is goofy.
America will not be safe until there is a pressure cooker registry, background checks prior to the sale of pressure cookers, a 14-day waiting period prior to the purchase of a pressure cooker and a ban on high capacity pressure cookers. The government should begin a pressure-cooker amnesty program where people can drop off unregistered pressure cookers with no questions asked.
people like this show a lack of common sense and reasonableness and make the terrorists smile.
