WSJ ^ | February 28, 2012 | Danny Yadron

There’s something sick about an administration which is so pro-Islamic that it can’t even tell the truth about the people who are trying to kill us,” Mr. Gingrich said ...

Mr. Gingrich accused the White House of being unwilling to discuss threats from some Muslims. And he slammed President Barack Obama for mounting a “war” on the Catholic Church over contraception but apologize to Afghan President Hamid Karzai over the burning of Qurans.

Perhaps I should run. What he did was more than a simple mistake. It showed he could never be trusted.

Nothing - NOTHING - gets past Newt Gingrich! Why, I'd never considered the possibility that there was something sick about an administration which is so pro-Islamic that it can’t even tell the truth about the people who are trying to kill us.

“Not sure where you’re going with that Captain Obvious cartoon....yes, it’s obvious, but we have a major problem in this country of not calling out the obvious. Just sayin.....”

It is obvious to most freepers, however the majority of the U.S. sleeping sheeple will never believe this, no thanks to indoctrination by the government schools and media.

That’s a fair point, and I don’t dispute it. I’ve written extensively on Newt and much of it is negative. In fact, I have coined a phrase “the good Newt versus the bad Newt” for just this topic.

Having said that, if you insist on bringing that up even in one of those moments when Newt is being brilliant, then you are insisting on making yourself unhappy at a moment when you should not be. This was the good Newt. Have the freedom to throw off the Pharisee’s robe and enjoy it. We all know the other is what it is. You didn’t really enlighten us. We all know that already.

Everytime I see that picture of Newt on the couch with Pelosi I always wonder if later he says to himself “What the Hell was I thinking?”

Marco Rubio is doing his own version of self-destruction now with his actions as part of the Gang of Eight.

I would agree with about 80% of what you said above. However, Newt was not releasing that statement to Free Republic members who already know it. He is trying to break through to some small percentage of those indoctrinated by the schools and the media. All we need is to break through and switch about 1-2% to win elections. Newt, on his good days, is a powerful ally in that fight.

Newt Gingrich on Tuesday lavished praise on President Barack Obama - the man whose job he may be after in 2012.

“He’s starting to get a lot of strength back,” Gingrich said of Obama in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,.” noting his Tucson speech and hiring of Chicago powerhouse Bill Daley as the new White Hosue chief of staff.

Gingrich praises Obama’s speech.

(CNN) – Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich praised President Obama’s acceptance speech Thursday before the Nobel Committee in Oslo.

“I thought the speech was actually very good,” Gingrich told NPR’s The Takeaway. “He clearly understood that he had been given the prize prematurely, but he used it as an occasion to remind people, first of all, as he said: that there is evil in the world.”

The comments mark the second time in a month that Gingrich has given President Obama’s performance a positive nod. Following the president’s speech at West Point, Gingrich said the decision to increase troop levels in Afghanistan “took considerable courage.”

Nice “Newt-tron Bomb”! :-)

I see from the responses that Newt’s half-life hasn’t been reached yet. All of the “Captain Obvious” Newt-froth automatically flying without catching the date this was said, or talks about “cojones” when no one else will even say this much.

FR has raised the Circular Firing squad to an art-form.

The media has been subverted with Middle Eastern money. Don’t hold your breath waiting for them to report on anything truthful about this.

Middle Eastern money...what grips me is they got most of that from us while we refuse to use our own natural resources. I've suspected for a long time the so called "environmentalists" are really a front group for the Arabs - although they've got a lot of useful idiots following their wake.

C.Edmond ~ all we need is MORE REPUBLICAN VOTERS.

Converting Democrats does little good if they don't vote, or if they're in the wrong states.

One of the quicky 'what if' analyses demonstrated that as few as 100,000 more Republican voters voting Republican were needed to switch states from one column to another in sufficient number to change the electoral vote to a Romney win.

It pains me that Romney needed so few Republicans to eek out a victory ~ you'd think there'd be a vast number who'd walk out on the puke, but there it is.

Still, registration drives are the name of the game.

BTW, the Democrats are definitely aware of how narrow their victory was and understand that they are OVERCLUSTERED in too few states. In the long run they may well be so marginalized that they cease being able to run national elections.
