Boston Suspects' Background Threatens To Derail Immigration Bill

Boston Suspects' Background Threatens To Derail Immigration Bill Some Republicans voice second thoughts about immigration reform legislation in light of the revelation that the Boston bombing suspects are ethnic Chechens who came to the U.S. from Russia.

“Given the events of this week, it's important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system,” Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said at a hearing on the immigration reform bill.

By Lisa Mascaro April 19, 2013 WASHINGTON — The background of the Boston bombing suspects quickly emerged Friday as a potential hurdle to immigration reform, as renewed fears of terrorism gave conservative opponents a fresh argument against a proposed new law.

"Given the events of this week, it's important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system," Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said at a hearing.

"How can individuals evade authorities and plan such attacks on our soil?" he asked. "How do we ensure that people who wish to do us harm are not eligible for benefits under the immigration laws, including this new bill before us?"

Conservative commentators echoed Grassley.

The proposed law's "sponsors should delay debate on the bill until there is a full and complete account of how the children who became terrorists came into the country," wrote Hugh Hewitt, a radio host, referring to the brothers who are suspected of planting two bombs at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured more than 170.

After it became known that the older brother had died in a shootout with police, Ann Coulter tweeted: "It's too bad Suspect # 1 won't be able to be legalized by Marco Rubio, now."

It’s a crying shame that it takes an event of this magnitude to wake up the masses to what we conservatives have known for years. We didn’t need to see four dead and over 180 wounded to understand that such an event has always been a possibility, and open borders and loose immigration policy raise the odds from possible to probable. Put a sombrero on someone named Mohammed and he will look an awful lot like someone named Juan.

I was impressed with Pena the other night when the Tigers were playing the Mariners. I liked his composure at the plate. And I liked his composure when Smoak charged into him (he’s the catcher) and was unable to knock the ball from his hands as the game ended. He should have been angry, but just got up and smiled!

USA needs a tight immigration system like every other country in the world—especially Mexico.

Just to make the future a little brighter, many Mexicans are converting to Islam. Someone named Juan may be a future terrorist.

Remember how zero surrounded himself with Sandy Hook relatives to try to obliterate the 2nd amendment? The republicans need to surround themselves with Boston bombing survivors and do a press conference reminding everyone about our unsecure borders and the havoc that foreigners wreak on our citizens.

Wonder if zero would think that was being opportunistic, since he would never do that./s

Gee, to bad.

I was going to say, "Gosh, that's terrible."

I guess there's room to compromise, though.

Well, in the first place, they’re probably all a bunch of liberal puke heads and wouldn’t do it, you know? But in the second place, no, Republicans, such as they are, need to stand on principle.

If one 19 year old kid can bring the entire paramilitary law agencies of the FBI, ATF, DHS, Mass Staties, Boston locals, and others to their limits, imagine what our enemies thought these past few days about what might be used to bring us down?

As an exercise of probing us, this whole thing is a disaster for America.

“The legislation would provide a 13-year path to citizenship for most of those now in the country without authorization, requiring them to pay taxes, fees and a $2,000 fine. Legalization would be tied to increased efforts to secure the Southwest border with a double-layer fence and drone surveillance.”

BULL CRAP! Let’s go back and look at the history. These sorts of things (like securing our border) were supposed to happen when Ronald Reagan was duped into amnesty, and again when Bush stupidly got on board the amnesty train. It’s all lies and eyewash. The simple truth is, the misguided morons want to legalize the illegals because without them social security goes down faster than the Titanic. The illegals (most notably Mexican illegals) are the only ones reproducing. The morons think these are the social security/medicare/IRS taxpayers of the future. Unfortunately, they ignore the fact that these illegals TAKE more social resources than they pay into - and that will never change.

How about legislation that states ‘if you came here illegally, you can never become a citizen unless you leave and apply for entry from outside the country - with a minimum wait of 18 months. If you don’t do this, within a year of the passage of this legislation, you can apply for a work visa, stay, and pay taxes, but you can never be a full citizen and vote - ever.’

If they were at the Masters last week, then someone with big money was behind them - those tickets were going for $5,000 to $8,000 each for weekly pass and $1,500 for a single day pass. These guys had to rob a
7-11 for money.
